There're some reasons for those lens that cost much less. This is what I know:
1) There have been several generations of this kind of lens ever produced. The latest one is now 3/4th (sorry not sure if I get it right). Those cheaper ones should be of previous generation, otherwise those optician center won't be able to make profit by charging you only several thousands.
2) If a person's eyeballs are in normal shape, then those previous generations product may fit without much problems. However, like my girl's eyeballs are not evenly shaped, therefore she will need to wear those specially ordered lens all the way from the States which are more expensive. My girl's current pair of lens are the 4th pair already because the first 3 don't work as good, but we switched without incurring extra charge, it is included in the package price. The switching include switching from one manufacturer to another manufacturer.
I believe those cheaper opticians may not willing to bear the switching cost for you. So, they are unlikely to tell you that you will need another pair even if your lens don't fit you....so very likely they will tell you your problems are just very usual, don't worry......blah blah..
So if the pair of lens ordered from those very cheap one work well for you, then you're lucky that your eyes have no particular issue. But if you know your eyeballs are not the usual one, please choose a optician very carefully.
If you compare the prices among those more famous or more established optical center, the charge is more or less the same, while there's one substantially charge less, please be careful of what they actually give you...just the same as you buy chinese medicines. |
