很多謝妳的分享. 妳的意見很有用. 我應該會去APS second in. 這是一所很好的小學. 我小朋友手指嫲嫲, 所以piano不太好. 但他老師說他作曲不錯. 我大笑.

我小朋友說話不叻, 我問他讀那一小學是沒多太用. 他沒有主見, 只是記性好小小和對數學＋分之有興趣.

GT 內的giftd不太多, 我很想小朋友愉快學習, 有一個開心童年. 學業上我不太擾心. 這裡有一位資深BK會員 ANChan, 他(她) 的意見十分好. 所从慢慢會去買多啲 brain teaser, analogy 嘅書. Amazon 有好多. 對SCAT有用. 所以如果你想入John Hopkins's Talent Search, 你也要準備一吓.

Yes the EPGY is very old style. For kids, okay, for adult standard, very low.

BTW, I am concern why you said you don't have confidence on GT. APS has second interview thsi June but it's not straight-train and I don't like to find a secondary school later. Besides, my son's is bad in music. Although he is good at memory but the musical sense is ... bad (I guess). I intend don't go for second interview. SO hope to know more your view point on GT. Thx.

Thanks for your sharing. Maybe you also agree that EPGY is not very organized (just my own option). The questions are appeared by random. Sometimes I find out that after a difficult divdion calculation, say, then it will "suddenly" change to simple addition. ANd I can't select which topics by myself. My son loves the "drawing" platform and he learns it with fun.

To which level? Now I am awaiting to this P1 this Sep. I need to check with his Math teacher if there any supports from the school. I know his school quite support Olympiad Math. If yes I may switch to OM and I can teach him algebra by myself. He has been leanring OM outside for 4 months. In fact those questions are quite interesting.

Maybe play some competitions next year. Will you want to try too?

I bought it for my son a few months ago. Yes it's quite interesting. If I recall correctly, there is another level available.

我之前買左呢本比呀仔試做下, 到小三我就正式比佢學奧數, 佢話同學校學既唔一樣, 好開心喎。

如果你仔仔有興趣做數, 可以試下買, 新加坡出的奧數練習, 大眾書局買的。

其實我意思不是說唔比或抑制
而是我覺得如果個小朋友真的喜歡，能力又夠，佢自然會要求做更多，反而在他的強項不用太操心
舉例一個數學好的孩子，平常上課的東西不用像一個數學差的孩子一樣要補習加強，他可以用更多的時間去多接觸這個社會的人和事，我覺得對他的成長更有益處
我所說的發展，不只指學術或技能上，還包括社交和品格上
(重申，我並非指著重某方面就不能學好社交和品格，只是比重上^_^)

To make it clear, my son joined John Hopkins CTY program. This program uses EPGY mateials so my son used EPGY website to login. Hope this clear.

I just bought 3-months time from 2-1-12 to end of April. So I just finished the period. My son finished Grade 3 and Grade 4 and he passed the exam. He loves it so much. However I will stop for this summer and when he joins P1 this Sep, we will decide how to "explore" his Math further. Besides it is not too cheap, so I have downloaded a e-book and plan teach him pre-algebra thsi summer. My partner STRONGLY aginat it, ha!

我以前有買兒童的科學和一本關於數學與科學的雜誌， 放在家中，引大囝去閱讀。



我另外買了這本書給細囝，希望能夠讓他做多幾題problem solving之餘，又可以學好英文。那些笑話漫話都幾好笑架。

語文亦很重要。
我大囝數學好，但語文弱，結果數學科常被語文拉低。因為做到problem solving的題目就常因看不明題目或表達不清楚而扣分。所以我這幾年沒怎去理他數學，主力谷他語文，最近總算略見起色。
