We are living in USand won’t go back Hong Kong until Dec. By that time, most of the school havealready finished accepting pre-nursery students. What are the chances to getinto the school in the middle of the year? I don’t have a specific kindergartenin my mind, but most likely, we will be living in TKO area. What should I dofirst once I come back HK in Dec? Many Thanks!!!

Thanks. I really have no idea about the school system in HK. I grow up in HK, but i think their education has changed dramatically.
I looked at other posts in this forum and feel overwhelmed about all the info. Any other school in TKO has better reputation and accepting application this late?

Learning Habitat has a campus in TKO and their interview process will not start interview until next year, but I am not sure whether they still accept application now, you may check on their websites or email to the school for more information.

Actually, some school will not start interviews until Dec/Jan, for your case, you can submit the application form first and see whether the school can arrange an interview that suits your timeline.

Do you have any targets?  I believe the bk mums in here could give you some helpful tips if you can tell us the school names.

No, we are coming back in Dec 2011 (2 months later). As I know, most of the nursery has already finished the interview and admission by then, I am afraid no school is going to accept her for PN and I will need to put her name down for 插班.
Or do I still have a chance to make her in for interview in Dec? We're probably going to stay in TKO area. Is there any kindergarten nearby TKO have late admission?
Thanks!

If she was born in June 2010, then she is not 插班 if she starts school in Aug/ Sep 2012.

Do you mean she will come back to HK from US in Dec 2012 so has to 插班?

chau_mandy ask "when" not "where"

which year and month?

from around Sep 2011 to Feb 2012 is the time for 2010 baby to apply pre-nursery.

But most school classify BB into Big BB and Small BB.  Big ...

Oh, sorry, I mis-read her message.
My daughter was born in June 2010 so I think she's considered as a big BB/middle BB.
Actually, I talked to her in Cantonese at home and I have a Cantonese nanny so she doesn't really know English...LOL. We do go to a playgroup here once a week, but I don't think that's a lot of help on training her English.

But most school classify BB into Big BB and Small BB.  Big BB are usually those born in Aug or before and Small BB are those born after Aug.  Some school would not consider Small BB and many of the famous school prefer Big BB.

no difference where she was born (but I guess may have some advantage as she definitely has very good english language enviroment.)
