Perhaps the kids can try the I Wonder Why series. My daughter has read more than 10 books of this series, and it teaches her a lot of knowledge about human body, nature, animals, weather, and many other science subjects.
It can be a good balance between fiction with all the fancy stories and non-fiction with knowledge.
My daughter can read ORT Stage 7/8/9 regarding to her ability. She reads the words and pictures every page. But it looks that she is impatient to read the chapter books. She sometimes skips the pages after reading a few pages. This transition lasts for more than 1 month. How to bridge this transition? Can you or anyone kindly share your experience?
