Sorry I guess I am still better using English to express myself.

For those of you who may have followed my posts for the past years, I guess everyone know what we have planned, that is, to secure a private primary school at the time of kindergarten entrance.

We are fortunate to have spent the past two years in a wonderful kindergarten, both my daughter and I have learned and grew up together through such valuable experience.

Turned out, as some of you may have read my recently post that is rarely my style, my daughter has spoken for herself and expressed clearly her mind concerning her own education preference.  So, we have decided to give up and didn't apply for the related private primary school.  We hope that the seat can be offered to someone who are in greater need than us.

We are still very much in love of the school, and it is fortunate that we have another primary section which is gov't aided.  So now, we are leaving this to the hand of God to decide the destiny for us.

Do wish us luck and thank you to everyone as always!

In fact, we are lucky to receive our first and only offer today.  So thank you very much to everyone for the support and blessing.

But we will still need to wait until June for the one we target.  I guess our faith is still not strong enough so this offer comes to help to relieve us during the long wait.

Thanks for the sharing.  I personally knew graduates of SH in different generation, all the back to those graduated from SHCC in the 60's.  I can assure you that it has changed.  If it didn't happen, you wouldn't find me in this situation at all!  

Just try to open your mind and try to see how it is now for yourself.  The decision is yours 'coz no ones can tell you what is the best for you, except yourself.  But be reminded not to be affected by the past.  It's the past and they are history.  The history itself brings it to how they are nowadays, but not necessarily represent what they are today.

Good luck to you and your daughter!  At the end, it is a wonderful thing to have your children study in the schools you attended.  There are many similar stories here, may be you will run into your fellow alumni.

Hello Ian, thanks for your sharing.  

I'm a new comer reading your post and I'm also wondering whether should apply SHCK for my 2yr old girl.  I was a sacred heartist, from kinder till college.  To be honest, life is not easy in SHCS private section (though it was talking about 2x years ago) and my childhood life = "study".

We really need to ask ourselves, do you want the same happen on your girl?  do you want her to be a stereotype of person?  I'm not sure whether SHCS has improved or not.  From your sharing, I can smell that it's still an old-fashion school. If this is the case, I really need to consider whether the same old teaching style suits my girl haha.

Your girl is a brave girl.  She is so lucky that her parents support her decision.  (I'd never thought of that even the life is tough in SH)  Good luck to you Ian!

Yup, You have achieved.  Definitely touched my soul and I shall keep this in mind.  Yeah, it's my gal's turn for K application this year, so surely need your advice to take me out from the clouds and confusion!  Thanks alot for your sharing!

I am not saying dragon school is bad.  And logically, it is how parents should begin with during their search of the "right" school.  However, sometimes parents are just a bit too occupied and stop their search prematurely and that's the concern that what I concern.

Hope you will find the "right" one!

In the past, I am so keen to let my girl studying in so call "good" and "dragon school", and think that it must be a good way for her, at least with back up.  However, when I am looking at other schools now, I find that it has a lot of choices for kids, no matter strong in academic, languages or even in 品格修養.  Except something very bad I will stop them, why don't let them to feel something more. Life is long and with full of unexpected.

If I were you, I think I will do the same as well!

I was shocked because I have been your quiet fans (cos not yet time for me to give comments as my gal is too small), and I have seen millions of advices from you and have seen you did SOOOO many researches and then finally picked the best school for your angel.   I was shocked that you are taking this big risk.  But after I calmed down, I should not be surprised at all.  I really appreciate your 无私的爱.  Your decision is just the same person like you in my mind.  GREAT ROLE MODEL!

I cried....because I am so 感动。 I think it must be a tough decision to make.  With your angel with those angel like thinking.  You have definitely made a perfect decision for joining the K as the school may count some marks for the kind and thoughtful mind of your angel.

有人辞官归故里，有人漏夜赶科场。I totally agree that there must be some good reason for a decision, a right decision at one pt can be wrong at another point.  But at least no regret because you have made the best one at this moment.

Of course, my daughter is not going to be as smart as your children to be offered by such a competitive school!  We don't even dare to apply as I am quite sure my daughter is not up to their standard.  But certainly I understand the ability of my daughter and with her own inputs, so I have only applied to those which fit her descriptions.

it'll be our turn to enter the p1 game next year so we're spending time to compare the am/pm section too.  good to see that current UK parents are putting a lot of thoughts and efforts in choosing the right school for their kids!  looking forward to hearing good news from you & other UK parents on getting their preferred seats!
