幼稚園選校一百問(7)
問:  其實有沒有「一條龍」幼稚園？
答: 「一條龍」幼稚園的存在，是一些私立小學與有關的幼稚園，在辦學理念相同的情况下，預留、優先或甚至全數取錄相關幼稚園的學生。因為這些優勢，而被稱為「一條龍」幼稚園。「一條龍」幼稚園的學額，其實只佔全港幼稚園學額的少於5%，所以其實能在「一條龍」幼稚園就讀的幼兒家長，應好好珍惜這份機會。

問:  「一條龍」學校是否最佳選擇？
答:  在選校前，家長必須先清楚了解每間幼稚園的辦學理念及教學模式，在真正認同下才去選擇就讀，切勿以一種「後備」的心態而勉強選擇一間「龍校」。假如是在認同該校的辦學理念及教學模式下，而有能承擔六年的私立小學學費，「一條龍」幼稚園不失為一個很好的選擇。因為在報讀小學階段中，就讀「一條龍」幼稚園的幼兒家長，所受的壓力相對較少及時間較短。

問:  報讀「一條龍」幼稚園有什麽要注意？
答:  接龍的安排，均由有關私立小學自行決定，在作出決定前，最好先向心儀學校查詢有關安排是否仍然有効。另外這些「龍校」大都是與有關資助中學保留部份學位供原校小學生直升，個別直資中學則會給予達標學生直升，但要留意學費的負擔。

Basically they are two separate kindergartens but they are both through train to the primary school at 大坑 (I was referring to primary schools in the article).

其實所謂「一條龍」幼稚園，是部份私立小學及其相關幼稚園，因相同辦學理念而預留學位或優先 (「半條龍」) 、甚至全數(「一條龍」) 取錄相關幼稚園的學生。

有很多人認為，資助/津貼小學的附屬幼稚園直升的機會很高，事實資助/津貼小學在派位完成後，的確尚有少數「扣門位」，但由於教育局於兩年前再次「封頂」(要求「小班教學」的每班只有兩個「叩門位」，就算是「大班教學」的都只能每班有三個「叩門位」)，因此這些「扣門位」的數量已變得太少而大大減低學生直升的機會。

而「一條龍」學校也不一定是最佳選擇。雖然在報讀幼稚園、小學及中學三個階段中，要得到心儀小學的一席學位可算是最難控制結果的一關。假如能承擔六年的私立小學學費，「一條龍」/「半條龍」幼稚園不失為一個好選擇。但其實在選校前，家長必須先清楚了解每間學校的辦學理念及教學模式，在真正認同下才去作出選擇，切勿為一個安心而勉強選擇一間「龍校」。要留意在小一選校時，部份「龍校」是不容許學生在註冊後繼續參與统一派位的，所以學生會因而失去派入官、津校的機會。

入讀「一條龍」幼稚園後，不一定是真的十五年無憂。基本上由幼稚園入學的「一條龍」最多只能維持九年，在升中階段，這些「龍校」大都是與資助中學以直屬或聯繫關係保留部份學位供原校小學生直升；個別直資中學則會給予達標學生直升，但相對學費的負擔會變重。除此之外，男生家長要注意幼稚園一般都是男女校，但大部份「龍校」的中學部是純女校 (例如大坑真光、培道)，甚至小學部也是一樣 (例如嘉諾撒聖心、聖保祿及聖母)。

「一條龍」幼稚園推介：培正、大坑真光、培道及聖嘉勒；「半條龍」幼稚園推介：嘉諾撒聖心、聖保祿、救恩、民生、聖母及德望。家長須留意，這類接龍的安排，均由有關私立小學自行決定，因此在作出選擇及決定前，最好向該校查詢有關安排是否在小孩入學時仍然有効，否則可能會在不清楚的情況下打錯「如意算盤」。

九龍真光中學附屬小學?  But this one doesn't have a connected kindergarten.

It was one of the private primary schools we considered but we didn't apply eventually.  What I know is they are switching to EMI (English as medium of instructions) this year and they also run small class teaching on private school standard (i.e. around 30).  One concern was they are having plan to renovate the campus but I didn't follow the latest news on the progress.  May need to spend a few years on temporary premises but should be good for long term.

Our Lady's kindergarten is its full name, or you are looking for its Chinese name?  It is 聖母幼稚園.  
All of them are very nearby in Wong Tai Sin.

You are welcome!  Consider we have only applied to THREE private primary schools this year, we only choose schools which agree with the family values on child education.  Hoping there are more parents to share about their experience last Sat.

If your daughter is already in K1, my suggestion is just keep observing her progress and decide.  Quite frankly, although it is nice to have through-train to private primary schools, but it is not a must.  Like in our case, we have gave up our own private primary school and now is just the same as everyone else.  Sometimes it may not be good when you know things too clearly.

I wouldn't say Pui Ching's secondary is not as good, it is simply a reflection of current society's value.  Parents have their own priority over the tradition of schools.  I would think it is a very sad thing to see.  Hope there will be a better day!

I am sorry but I will not rank among schools.  All these are good schools and they are only different in various perspectives.

Unfortunately we missed the interview of Our Lady's 3 years ago due to schedule conflicts and didn't apply for it again this year for the young one.  However, as I studied in a secondary school with the similar philosophy, so I trusted them will provide what I expected from education.

On the other hand, we were at Our Lady's primary school last Saturday for my daughter's first P1 interview.  It was a pleasant experience and can find the girls are confident and polite.  The most surprising thing is that we learn they are running extremely small classes with 20 or less students per class.  Also, there will be free musical instruments training from P1 to P3.

How are the standard of 救恩Colleage and 民生 College?  Both Chinese?

Are u referring to these kindergartens or secondary section?  Kau Yau's primary have no connections with Kau Yan College as it has moved to Tai Po.  Munsang's secondary section is using English as medium of instructions.
