I think York is quite good. It encourses children to face challenge, e.g. English test(Cambridge) and Maths test(Stanford). Maybe some parents don't like this school because of too much emphasis on it's academic build up rather than childcare. Children might not be happy here. However, I believe the "basis" of kids' education is very important. And if the teaching method is able to make kids love learning, e.g. letterland. Why not teach them more? To be a human being, everyone has to face challenge in his whole life, even now my son needs to learn how to eat himself. Don't need to be afraid of pressure in this competitive world. Believe your kids can handle it! :
My son has attended the interview today. He is doing fine and I wish he could get PN offer. btw, the York teachers are quite nice.
