I used his preference as example.

The traditional programs you mentioned are very hot right now, are dream programs for most parents and kids. We discussed about careers which are up and coming in the future, like environmental, healthcare...... It's more visionary, difficult to tell.

For your son's case, my two cents as follow:

CSI - Forensic Science, UK. (You can check with Imperial College Summer Program from internet, one program realted to this.)

Aircraft Design - I am not sure, but you can search aircraft engineering, one of my staff graduated from UK, but he is not in aerospace field.

Pilot - I know Australia has some pilot program, a friend's boy is studying in Adelaide.

My suggestion, if possible expand his and your exposures outside HK universities.........

大學做promotion, 不過d中學生就辛苦啦!!
(I don't think it's purely promotion, as HKUST did some gifted programs for years, also for CUHK as well. It's a choice for students, they can take or decline the offer(s).)

你地或你d仔女會點睇?? (其實我想知F.2-F.4會現在就留意大學未??)
(Most subjects are science bases, my son is very clear not to take purely science or maths subjects, he may not interested in this opportunity.)
(My son awared the university programs and did the research from F3..... His choices may need other skill sets and not limited to science subjects...)
