想間下救恩幼稚園依家係咪唔包保一定入番救恩小學,或用什麼準則入番呢

You are aware of the background of Kau Yan's principal?  She is the first principal of HKUGA.  So, this should give you some understanding what has been changed in Kau Yan after her arrival (positive changes).

I do agree with your observations.  It will be a good one to consider.  All the best!

yes, I think we will apply to kau yan.  this is not a school for top academic results (as per the principal) but I felt the principal really has the heart for education.  more importantly, some aspects of kau yan are kind of similar to soka, my daughters current kg and the teacher to student ratio is v good so I believe it would be a good fit for our daughter.  

I spoke to a number of students and in general I was quite impressed by their communication skill and how they responded to my questions (I realised they were picked by the school to present the school and this is the first primary school visit that I spoke to students so really I have nothing to compare with).

如有70%女仔入YW, 咪幾乎=直屬? 咁佢小學肯定爭崩頭啦.

70%入EMI 我覺得算唔錯.

I think you are right ian, 70% of the girls in ky go to ying wah girls. thx for the correction.  

just to add it was also mentioned that KY do not put any artificial # on boy / girl intake (think they mentioned the actual boy/girl ratio is fairly balanced)

Just checked Kau Yan's website and I think they mean over 70% S1 allocated to EMI schools.  For Ying Wah Girls', the max number of students allocated there in the past few years was 9.

it was a bit of struggle for us also the past weekend w ECAs and family commitments.  anyway, just to share the notes taken:

- a happy school (as commented by others in bk)
- no exams in P1 and P2
- emphasized its a local school but some subjects use IB approach, no plan to change into IB in the future however.
- kg students will have preference into the primary school
- interview will be conducted in both cantonese and english by the teaching staff.  parents will not be interviewed.

there will be another 簡介會 on 9th Jul.

You are welcome!  Just a friendly reminder for other K2 parents.

I want to go but both my daughters have classes on the same hour as the information session so we didn't go at the end.  Did you attend it?  Anything can share with other parents?
