Yes SFA has another round of 2nd interview if you have missed the first round.  It will be in June, after the gov't allocation of seats results.  They should have called those whom sent in regular appeal letters to them.  It should be done quick also like your 1st interview style (about 10 in a group).  It will then select about 10 or less, depending on that year how many did not pay up the school fees.  As recent years, gov't school seats have been slashed to a small group teaching, more and more people have not given up the seats at SFA.  Better write more often to them and show your interest in the school and promote more of your son.  Good luck!

I think it's also a choice between local (SFA/SMC) and non-local (CKY)schools. The choice involves a big difference in money terms. For non-local schools, you need to pay for the IB programme ($8000+/month) and overseas study ($1m / kid).

My daughter is not as talented as the gifted ones.  She just an ordinary child but she is very outspoken type.  She was picked and being observed by the teacher to invite her to be an English Embassador.  It is a good training program which does not requires any fees for learning to speak good english and represent the school to promote more english at school or even during activities (PTA or open school or P1 interview day) that associate with lot of parents.  Well.. they have many activities.. some gifted ones which are proven with IQ test.. they would invite them for talks and special training during ECA.  The principal has already mentioned to us that all academic program including daily lessons have already input the gift program elements.  It should benefit your child from P1 eventhough your child is not gifted after an IQ test.  

An established system in place which you will like this school so much.  Some of my daughter's ex-school mates they have transferred to other top local school with secondary school advantage... their parents also said that SFA is a very good school which help them to train their kids up so much that they have a hard time to give up the school to another due to the fact that SFA has no secondary school.  Otherwise, they will choose to remain there.  

Many top students in Form 5 or A-level exams score very well.  They are able to train up top students.  Even with the one ranked last in the form will be able to rank top 10 in a form in other band 1 schools.

My daughter study at SFA and it is a very good school.  I am a working mum too and busy travelling as well.  You may want to get SFA instead as they have a very good system to pave your boy to assessment and exam.  In fact, I did not send my daughter to any tuition centre to do homework.  She is able to handle it herself.  SFA focus on training their student being more indenpendent on everything and outspoken as well.  Though they are traditional but they also encourage lot of activities and open competition.  To be honest, my daughter was transferred from ESF (international school) to SFA.  She picks SFA after her 1st month of study at SFA.  Even now, she still prefer SFA.  Also, SFA would help develop your child specialty as they have a very good system in place to help all those talented and gifted students - in sport, drama, art, or study.  Teachers there are very experience to pick the right candidates and able to observe their students' strengths and weaknesses (although they are in a big class).  Should consider carefully for your boy's future.  A chance for him to be a better person.  I do not against CKY but I personal thinks that it is too free (like ESF schools).  I believe discipline is important to be inplaced for a minor age, which they need guidence and strict discipline.  I believe in slight freedom in secondary school when they know their owned values and culture or things to do in the right time.  I was from overseas myself and I believe in great deal of discipline.  I hope all these are helpful to you. There is only 1 science project in Y1.  However, most homeworks, if any, requires participation from parents, not just copying or dictation.  The students are encourage to read a lot of books and as parent, you will need to provide guidance to them especially during y1 and 2.  It is not easy to out-source the homework monitoring to 補習班 as you will lose track of your kid's progress.

I think CKY would have quite a lot of projects. PArents might also need to involve in  some degree?!

I believe so. I heard that on the third week of P1, there are already tons of homework, weekly dictation and have the 1st test done already.

if you want good academic result, SFA should be your target.

If you do not particularly fond of cky, I would suggest you choose SFA or SMC.

Thanks for all your advice. I've asked my boy which school he preferred and he said DBS that we didn't get an offer from there! Within these 3 schools, he said he's no difference and let us decide (headache!!). The most important point for me is the school did have good academic level and 校風好.

唔考慮錢，CKY 好！！ 英文、校風、學校設施都好D..

不過，當然要考慮小朋友的個性同將來升學計劃啦！！
