CCKG INTERVIEW SHARING

每年CCKG都在一二月面試， 今年重好似係四月七號公佈結果． 小女去年有幸獲得取錄， 重記得舊年由準備到面試， 再等待結果的心路歷程． 又睇到呢到好多道聽途說的資料， 負面的批評及謠傳， 藉此向大家分享我作為CCKG家長的第一身睇法．

問: CCKG 每年收取多少個(K2)學生？
答: 84個 (42男 + 42女)

問: CCKG 的班級架構？
答: 分LOWER (K2)和 UPPER (K3)， 每級有3班， 分別是FAITH， HOPE 和LOVE， 而每班有28位學生 (14 男 + 14女)． 每班再分4小組， 以枱的顏色區分， 每張枱有6 至 8 個學生． 每張枱都會有一個MONITOR， 由學生輪流擔任．

問: CCKG的上課時間和教學語言？
答: 只有上午班， 每天2．5小時英文授課， 另每天有半小時的中文課． 沒有普通話課程．

問: CCKG 每年收到多少個入學申請？
答: 早幾年都超過4000個申請，近一兩年傳聞更話超過5000， 當中更以女孩申請數目比男孩多， 所以女仔所面對的競爭比男仔更為激烈．

問: 是否每個申請都獲得面試機會？
答: 是．

問: 基督徒是否優先取錄？
答: 不確定， 但我， 丈夫及小女均沒有宗教信仰

問: 父母是男女拔的舊生是否優先取錄？
答: 不確定， 但我及丈夫均不是男女拔的舊生．

問: 有背景， 富有家庭是否優先取錄？
答: 不確定， 但我們是來自普通家庭， 沒有背景， 沒有推薦信， 更沒有錢．

問: 是否需要製作個人簡歷 (PORFOLIO)？
答: 不需要， 整個面試過程沒有提及過PORFOLIO． 就算沒有K1 成績表正本都沒有問題， 我們提交的是副本． 有一點要留意， 有一些幼稚園會逢星期一收回手冊， 直至星期五才發還， 如果你是在星期三面試， 小朋友的手冊就要

問: CCKG的小朋友多數來自哪間幼稚園的K1？
答: 以我所見， 以SC， KV， HKPS， VICTORIA， KINGTON等較常見．

問: CCKG 學生的媽媽是否一定要全職主婦？
答: 不是， 我是全職的上班一族．

問: 面試是如何進行？
答: 以15分鐘5個小朋友為一組．

於指定日期時間在校門前等候． 當面試時間一到， 職員會檢查及收集面試通知書， 出世紙， 學生手冊及K1 上學期成績表． 只有一位家長可以陪考生上樓， 在校長室外的L型沙發等叫名．

面試時， 是小朋友單獨和外籍校長交談， 整個過程約為2-3分鐘． 完成後校長會親手帶小朋友出來和交回所有文件．

問: CCKG 每月的學費及雜費是多少？
答: 2010/11學年， 每月學費是港幣4200元(包括所有文具， 教材， 書本，習作，旅行的交通費及入場費)，全年收取10個月學費．

連海洋公園入場費都包，這一點令我驚訝不已！

問: CCKG 是否傾向收大B？
答: 不確定， 不過全年有3個生日會，剛剛舉行的(9-12月)是有小朋友當生日之星，而我女兒亦不是大Ｂ，她在６月後出生．

問: CCKG 的學校通告是否只得英文版？而且相當艱深？
答: 無論正式或非正式也好，跟CCKG的溝通，是要用英語的．CCKG的通告是只得英文版，而只需具備一定的英文能力，就沒有問題．個人覺得CCKG的通告寫得相當好，行文流麗，結構嚴緊，主題表達清晰．

cckg只係睇年份收生, 2012學年 for 2008年出生的小朋友, 2013學年 for 2009的出生的小朋友.

如果你今年無報, 理論上出年係唔收的(根據佢website講).

有無exception case就唔知了, 要等現任/過往家長留言.

Dear all,

My son is 0811 baby, He is studying PN right now and will study K2 in 2013, is it really impossible that the school will accept him?  The website says that 2013 K2 only accepts 2009 kids.  Thanks for your reply in advance.

My gal attended K1 at St. Catherines. In my year, around 18 to 20 students got accepted by CCKG. (I am not sure and this information was from a chatting with my daughter's teacher at St. Catherines.)

Comprehension in English is critical, understand what Mrs. Fielding asking and able to response correctly, smartly & confidently is always the key. Never recite any model answers and ask your husband don't make funny things when greeting with Mrs. Fielding.

Your information are so comprehensive.

My son is Dec 2007 B.  He had failed the submission in CCKG last year therefore I intended to apply again this year but his birth year is not 2008. CCKG 是否一定不接受指定年度出生的申請？

However I'm just wondering how long it takes for the Headmistress to complete interviews for all applicants?

2 minutes per interview, but taking into account the time for the children to be escorted in and out of the Headmistress's office, perhaps a max of 20 children will be interviewed per hour.

Assuming:

5000 forms collected by prospective parents,
4000 forms actually returned,
3600 children to be interviewed.

If the Headmistress interviews 6 hours a day,

3600/6/20 = 30 working days to complete the interviews!

My son did the interview yesterday, he refused to get in by himself in the begining.  I think because we don't have enough time to observe and warm up at the school.  Although we arrived 20 mins earlier before the interview time, seems the waiting and interview time were too fast.   

Luckily the lady outside the interview room, she talked to my son and comforted him for a while.  Later, he went in with Mrs. Fielding. I was  nervous too, i dont expect he will refuse to go in by himself, as he is a active/talkative boy, dont afraid of people.

Anyway, i think this is like a lucky draw game, really dont know how she decided who can study there.  Just see our luck.

My son told me, Mrs Fielding asked him some question.  e.g. What's your name, what is the same in a picture that she gave my son to see, showed him another picture, what are those people doing in the picture.

That's all what i got from him so far.

My son asked for a blue candy!  He said there was no games to play.......he kept thinking that there must be something to play there when he saw some children entering into the campus.

Dear Parent,

My son now applying for K1 can answer this two questions. - because he knows triangle has three sides and he can memorize A for XX, B for XX, etc. and also he like spelling.

The reason he know this is because I train him in this way - I ask him how many sides are there in pentagon, hexagon and octagon. I also ask him can an elephant swim or fly, are children, snake, plants, policeman a human being? this kind of question to stimulate his thinking and induce him to link up all the knowledge he acquired and analysis by himself.

So I believe the key point is how the parents help the child to learn.

School fee is HK$4200 monthly in school year 2010/11. It is all inclusive and there are only 10 installments a year.
