Thank you for your good words about our kids. Well. "Gifted" is an over-used but always misunderstood term. It would be much appreciated if you could tell me what you mean by "confirm". Maybe you ...
We have a unique definition of "Gifted kid"in our couple fellowship, Kid is a special gift from our Lord, all are different and special..........
You make a good point, I rephrase the word "Gifted" as two levels:
1. IQ test score; and or
2. Multiple-intelligence.
I guessed your kid may take IQ test (WSIC) and "confirmed" as high learning ability.
The multiple intelligence
The eight currently accepted intelligences are:
- Spatial
- Linguistic
- Logical-mathematical
- Kinesthetic
- Musical
- Interpersonal
- Intrapersonal
- Naturalist
For sharing, I post many replies since 2006 in Gifted education (Slow down in the last two years). If your are interested in that you can search in BK - ANChan59 + gifted.
My sharing touch on:
1. WSIC vs S-B IQ tests;
2. Double edged sword - High IQ
3. What parents can learn from gifted kid?
4. IQ vs multiple intelligence
5. Reflections on gifted education in HK
6. From learning disability to gifted
7. His primary school - support gifted kids
8. Gifted programs in HK - Maths
9. International exposure; etc
I copy and paste some of my replies on gifted education, around 12 pages Word file, I can't post it here. |
