小女將今年入讀播道, 想問問, 播道一年級有那些科目是用全英語教學呢? 有沒有普通話教學呢?

其實我只知我小朋友o個班中文就會用普通話教, 其他班我真係冇問過, 所以唔知係咪個別老師問題, 而英語我就更加覺得冇問題, 因為english, gs, maths, arts 都係用英文上課, 所以小朋友英文只會有增冇減. 而我自己就覺得師生關係係好重要, 唔通你想搵一間冇愛心嘅學校o黎教你小朋友, 事事都要罰你小朋友先開心嘅學校咩, 其實比起其他學校, 我覺得學校教書唔快, 唔會好似d 政府學校o甘一個半月就教完一本書, 小朋友究竟吸收幾多....唔知...., 總知家長自己負責. 而家學校可能真係未做到最全面, 所以我哋要去反應吓, 比多d 唔同意見學校, 學校先會有進步,有成長!

For my understanding, EC is not running IB. If you would like to choose IB curri. school, Logos academy or Chan Sau Yan may be your choice.

For NSS, EC is a normal and ordinary school but subsidy from govt. Now the highest secondary school grade is F5 and they are having NSS too.

sorry to be a little off-topic. since we were not able to attend the info session, just want to ask a dummy question - does this school provide IB program to take both the IB test and NSS, or only NSS test?

My child has attend putongwa (PTW) outside school so she is not much problem in the class.

I do belive if you want your child to learn language, just depend on school is not enough. Language development is through listening and reading. So we don't have much PTW for them to hear at home so their PTW will not get very high improvement.

EC is progressive to strengthen the student putongwa. If they push harsh to learn them, they may not learn it. I know some other schools in P1 teach PTW in context already. It is hard to learn for a new learner too.

Hi , thanks for your comments.

I'm one of those parents who doesn't like to send kids for 補習. I prefer kids to learn activities like music instrument, swimming, roller skates, singing, chess, Lego, sports...etc. And I thought kids can learn what they need from primary school. Besides, my daughter told me she doesn't like 普通話 too.

I know private tutor for 普通話 is around $250/hour which is not cheap, does it really work?

以我所知,小一中文主要是廣柬+普通話,多少則視乎每班的程度,所以can be much varied.
至於EC小學的英語程度,我覺得很不錯,當然很多家長都有在外補習,這是社會大勢所吹! ...
