有冇人今日去左蔡繼有開放日, 分享下感受!  我主要睇左1,2,3年班課室及遊戲地方有学生幫手, 他們的普通話几流利, 像說廣東話一樣能注入感情, 但因我本身唔識, 所以唔知講得好唔好, 我在不同的二、三年級課室及遊戲地方聽到分別4、5個小朋友說英語, 每人講兩、三句英文到啦, 明顯他們普通話比英語流利好多, 所以他們比較情願用普通話, 而他們說的英語是一個個字平實的說出來, 聽不出字同字之間既音調連接, 我用英語叫一位三年級的小朋友介紹他的project, 他用了兩、三句英語後便轉用普通話了,  但看他們在board上学的英文生字是很深的.

As I know, some music, art, maths, science, music instrument teachers are native eng. speaker or sound like native speaker.

The teachers teach English should be native speakers, though some look like Chinese are also native speakers (without any accent).   The class teachers, one PTH and one English will teach different subjects in the class, like Maths, Science...

Don't get it wrong here, I did not say that quality teachers is exclusive to teachers from foreign countries only.  Neither I mentioned that local teachers do not have the quality.

YES, ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY agree!!!!!

Why parents always prefer or proud of kids speaking English as Foreigners but we are Chinese!! Why Chinese need to speak fluent English but not fluent Cantonese and Mandarin and write well in Chinese!

Just want to give my observation on the learning of languages.

I think the environment in CKY is very good compared to most local schools since they have one native English teacher and one Chinese Putonghua teacher for each class.  From my experience, a kid, especially at younger age, learns English (or Putonghua) more effectively from peers than from teachers.  That's why a kid at CKY may not be able to achieve to a standard comparable to those at international schools.  Of course, parents' support play a very important role.  Better support, I mean more time spent on the kid, would definitely help.

我的兒子是準cky的p1學生...
我在上年去完小一admission talk之後就非常喜愛這學校,覺得很適合我的孩子....  主要是他們著重小朋友的development, 又有好的language environment和紀律好.  而我的小朋友很喜歡reading...

我沒有去open day,因為病了...

我和老公沒有理會什麼IB or not..  畢竟這是幾年後的事, 小學 - 都是著重小朋友打好底子及學習attitude... 就不用愁.    而language 上, 如果本身is not native, 我都唔會期望小兒會好似native那fluent... 只要足夠communicate 就可以了,,, 我們出來做事, 接觸foreigner, 只是communicate 到與否,  同樣地你亦不會要求1個foreigner 講eng & pth 都好fluent 怪...

以上只是純粹本人的看法, 沒有特別意思...... 我比較大冇畏..

針冇兩頭利, 國際學校英語會話能力會高, 但中文水平就真係唔高....
所以, 都是看家長們如何取捨..

学生的英語能力真的比我想像中差! 這樣好的語言環景, 我其望是会比真正的國際学校差小小, 但似乎比差小小還差多小小, 我個人會重新諗諗

哈哈哈，有point。應該話，外籍老師的薪金較高，相對地學費就好像不太貴。

蔡繼有兩個足球場可用，一個硬地足球場，在學校對面已新舖設，另一個就是那個草地球場，但需剪草後才能使用。事實上，室內運動場就欠奉，不過會有些小型運動室如乒乓球室等。

這是跟其他學校開放日很不同的。

這次OPEN DAY 的最大缺點是節目太多，但只開放一天。
4場MINI CONCERTS, 3/4 場TELANT SHOWS, 各場表演的節目都不同，還有多個學生的PRESENTATIONS, 教學示範，早操，跆拳道表演等。我只能夠看到一小部份。這些表演應該都是平日會做的，而且他們貴多不貴精，所以場場演出的節目和隊伍都不同，也就是貴在全民皆兵。
課室又全面開放，放置的都是平日的功課，至少2F班如是，沒有為這次開放日要求學生做些特別的作業。看到他們的成果，確實感動！一間學校在同一日內在校內不同地方做這麼多活動，沒有太大混亂已很難得。
EVACALBEE, 這校多數學生都很喜歡返學，學校給學生很多機會，讓他們各展所長，但不會給他們太大壓力。當然，人多報名，又要考家長(家長要答一份兩頁紙的問卷，形同考試，確保理念相同。)能獲取錄的，都應該有一定的水準，所以無需懼怕。

Agreed.  Most students who had the chances tostand on the stage to be the MC were those who talked fluently in one language, of course schools want to show the best of what they got.  Only when you talked to their students under the line you will be able to see the more realistic picture.

I visited their Biology and Physics classrooms, the physics teacher was a foreigner, the biology teacher was a chinese but spoke fluent English.  I had the impression that their secondary students had a very good English exposure in classroom lessons.  I saw there was another English man who was in the Geography room.  It seems CKY has got numerous native english teachers in teaching science.  The tuition fees is not expensive if they offer such school facilities and quality teachers.
