Can you share school life in GH?

dear all,

my daughter is luckily accepted by GH K1 next year.  She was born in Nov, 06 (become big kid).   I like GH primary because both of the academic and moral are very good.  However, i also hear some negative comment of this school. Like a lot of homework and difficult to catch up, the student is 自大.  Of course, i believe most of students are good.  Originally, i should be very happy to hear that my girl has been accepted by GH as she will direct promote to primary if everything goes smoothly.  I hv some questions:

1.  is it good to become "big kid" rather than "small kid" if study in GH primary as it is too many homework and difficult for small B to catch up? somebody suggest to become big kid and somebody suggest to let her become small kid first and then repeat. (ppl said if repeat, kid will be lack of confidence and no good.  should become big B instead of repeat)

2.  what is the school fee for P.1 to P.6?  any other monthly miscellaneous expense?  

3.  Is it a must to join many extra-circular activies and revision class?

4.  if study at girl school from KG to secondary, any problem?   She does not hv brother nor sister.  I am afraid she hv problem to get along with 異性 when grow up.

5.  are the students study happy and creative?  i am afraid it is too rigid and only 谷 that kids cannot enjoy a happy school life

As the KG is new, i don't know what is their std but the officer told me that it must link up with primary section.  As such, i think the standard should be higher than local KG.  In general, i don't hv any idea about KG but want to know more about primary section.

My daugther is 4. she is very active but very smart. her reading of english is excellent. she is studying in creative primary kindergarten. her math level is  also very good. I put her in enopi maths class, she can jump to level 4 at the age of 4. ( born in aug.)
I prefer girl school for her, if not in primary , must be in secondary.

I like good hope, the only thing, I worry is that . how many students in a class. any patience for teacher with active kids.


Can you please advise ?

I'm a Good Hope Secondary student. I had been studing in the primary section. Actually, the teaching in primary is not really that harsh, the school will help students to undergo it. They will increase amount gradually for students to adapt it.

The Secondary Section teaches Chinese in Mandarin, and all other subjects in English. I must say this is quite good for students.

Many thanks for the above sharing.  Just still hv some questions:

1.  my daughter is very active and not sure if she can sit down for doing homework.  I hope she can study in a creative thinking school instead of just 死讀書.  I heard that some girls who is talkative and active in KG and now become a "quiet" kid after studying in GH.  I am not sure if it is true.  

2.  do you know what is the school fee for P. 4 to P. 6 and secondary section?  I am afraid i cannot afford the school fee if they increase every year.

3.  some ppl might said "no need go to such expensive school, they can learn anywhere provide that they hv ability."  To be frank, i like GH very much.  I might not hv many resources to let her hv other extra-circular activites after joing GH.  Just want you to share if it is worth.  

4.  if my daughter really cannot catch up in primary, i am afraid i cannot find other local school for her.  Just heard that some of students might change to international school.

Totally agree and being as parents enjoying every piece of moment with your kids in primary school life makes you unforgettable. Of course, parents should also learn "sacrifice".

每間學校都一定有些善良勤奮,或頑劣自大的學生, 問題是多少, 我相信GH大多學生都是好的.
