My boy is now 19 mths.  He started to see the DVD few mths ago but after a few times, he is very resistant to see it (possible he does not like one of the characters there) but he still likes the cards and book.  How can he overcome the fear of seeing the chimpanzee maybe?

My baby have used it since 6 months old. He is now 19months and he know many words. I bought all the materials from Yahoo auction including the DVDs, slide cards and slide book. It's only cost $1500 and it is really worth. Now I use the English Time and sometimes I will play the YBCR to remind his mind.   
I've remembered that in the beginning, he only watched and did not have much reaction. But don't worry, the result will show up when he grows up.
Thus, for those mummy who still using it, keep up and don't give up. Let them to watch every day. Smart baby will be found soon!!!

My daughter is 9 months old now.  She just started watching YBCR DVD 10 days ago.  At the first few times, she couldn't sit properly and watch the whole DVD.  These few days, seems better and can watch it all to the end.
When I back to home after work, I'll play with her the sliding word cards and Lift-A-Flap Book.  But she always can't concentrate...
Also I only showed her the DVD once per day as not enough time everyday....  Not sure if it will affect the outcome....

I also use Your Baby Can Read when my son was 20 months old (now he is 2 years old), I started with the Lift-A-Flap Books (I read all the word with him and he will follow me to read), now I revise all 5 books with him everyday and when he see the word "eye" he will say it out....He is not interested in the DVD, everytime when I ask him "let's watch Your Baby Can Read" he will say "No" I want Noddys....

twinsmummy, I didn't do anything special to make them recog and say the words. They just do it themselves somehow. YBCR has some sort of attractiveness that most of the babies do love to watch, and won't lose interests even keep repeating and repeating.

My boys learnt quite a lot there apart from songs, like animals, their body parts and some actions. I gave up the sliding cards as they would take it from me and slide by themselves...

My baby is 10 months' old. I have used YBCR for 2 weeks, and she recognizes some words, like arms up, wave, waving... When we say arms up, she really puts her arms up. Super interesting. We only play the DVD twice everyday.
My baby girl is super active and never wants to stay in a place for a second, but when we play the DVD, she sits properly and watch it without moving around. I think it's worth. The only problem is you have to watch together with her and to be patient because for the starter video, you have to watch it for a month.

我阿仔16個月先開始睇，每日睇一次，效果好好！
會跟住做動作，跟住讀。
2歲前已經識得片入面大部份生字。

不過建議早啲 (6個月大) 開始睇，效果可能更好！
有些畫面比較單調，太大個小朋友可能唔會肯坐定定睇。

之前有個朋友送左呢套YBCR俾我，我個仔5個月大就開始睇，宜家睇左3個月，佢未有啲咩反應，不過唱親兒歌或者聽到YBCR片頭既melody就會笑，其他部分佢都坐定定咁睇。

由於朋友只係送左VCD俾我，我冇其他輔助教材，我唸住自己喺屋企print啲字出黎同佢玩吓。
