子女是就讀英文小學的家長可否入一入來.

想請問下有小朋友正就讀英文小學的家長, 讀小一時適應是否有困難? 是否所有課目除中文外都是全英語教學的呢, 會否用少少中文輔助呢, 例如數學, 如小朋友上課時真的聽不明白, 點算?  如小朋友就讀一般程度的幼稚園, 上英文小學是否很難追得上? thanks.

My son studies in normal kindergarten with a native speaking teacher teaching Eng, then move to the Eng stream P.1. He has no problem in Eng class, need some time to adjusting himself in Phonic Class bec of different accent of different teacher fm different countries. For Maths, he has no problem in simple +/- Qs, but for some Qs with long sentences esp those with difficult sentence structure he never touched e.g. more than/fewer than..., he needs my extra explanations.  Once he practised more, he had no problem.

To help the student to hv a better transition, in the 1st semester, my son's teachers will read out the Qs and explain further for those who don't know the vocab. U may talk with your son's teacher to see whether they will offer help.

我囡囡入小一時, 佢學校都係全英語環境, 因為有些科目係外藉老師教, 所以無廣東話輔助, 不過老師用詞唔會好深, 而且有D英文好既小朋友亦會幫忙其他小朋友, 所以大家都適應得好快.  上學期班主任宣佈重要事項會補充一D廣東話, 等小朋友清楚一D, 下學期就唔會啦.

小朋友學習語言係好快架, 我囡囡既同學部份都係普通幼稚園升上去, 都完全跟到, 唔駛太擔心.
