求教....福建中學 Vs 祟真中學 Vs 培正中學

各位你們好！有個頭痛及很急的問題請教.....

1.      小兒住在九龍， 現在 觀塘 福建中學 及 長沙灣 祟真中學  收小兒入讀 中一，應選擇那一間呢？

2.      另小兒現讀 培正六年級，祗可第二輪抽簽，升讀原校祗得 50% ，應怎麼決定，要簽福建中學 / 祟真中學 或等培正呢？

他升中一唔多適應，現在中二好好多了，功課一般！

他們上年有英國交學，太深很多都唔識，而英文，數學有精英班，中四通識學生可選英文通識！

Dear kitten 006 and tangko,

Thank you for your detailed and useful information.  After reading your message, I feel so guilty that I don't even know the TSA!   Good students must have good parents and their goods results also reflected how much efforts the parents had paid!    Which set of TSA exercise did you use?  Please advise the publisher's name. Actually I also plan to ask my kid to study 常識 during summer holiday.  Do you still have the 學習進度表?  Is it possible to send it to me by email?  I would like to know which chapters should we study for the 1st exam in November.  

It is out of my expectation that there are so many P6 students get places in other secondary schools.  Are they all band 1 students?

My girl visited her form teacher with some PCPS friends last week. She was told that most students are happy this year as most of the grade 2 students who want to promote to PCMS can get a seat. And some grade 3 students get places in other grade 2 schools too. As far as I know, there are many P6 students including my kid get
places in other secondary schools this year. It may be about 50 or more, I guess…..
I know your worries. My girl and I were 十吓十吓 in the very first報分試, and she got 17x out of 31x. I was woken by that shocking result and tried very hard to find out the problems and faced them. I have learnt whenever you sit for the game you should know how to play it well. I think it is important to know the strategies in studying every subject in order to score higher marks.
For eg. my girl’s form teacher told me that Eng. and Chi. are TSA oriented. So I bought my girl one book of TSA exercise of each subject and asked her to go through them during the summer holiday. In order not to add more work-load on her I asked her to revise them again before exams. She scored higher marks in P6’s exams.
It is time consuming for常識科, I suggest your kid to study some of the chapters in this summer.

Don't worry! Most band two and even band three students will obtain a seat in PCMS.
I guess it would be 20 to 25 band top students choosing other schools for secondary study, e.g. DGS, DBS, SPCC, BPS, SMCC, QC & YWGS etc.. PCPS students are much competitive than students from other primary school.
Exams in PCPS are not too difficult for our students if they have regular revisons. In order to know them really understand what they learnt in class, don't let them finished some or all homework at school, specially for Maths and English,instead, ask them to do all homework at home, then you will make sure they really understand or not what they learnt in class, then according to their weakness in subjects and find out ways to improve.
Reading more books is the only way to improve their language standard, both Chinese and English. For upper primary students, they also need to try reading newspaper everyday, including chinese and English newspapers. First step, just ask them to choose one or two topics within that they got interest to read, step by step to increase the topics until they can choose most major topics to read daily.
Try to let your child to join the English drama activities that held at school. It would help him/her to build up confidence to present himself/herself for interview in future.
Enroll classes by British Council is another effective way to improve English.
At last,  please bear in mind that the only way to success is working harder and harder.
My child is one of the graduates of PCPS this summer. Above all are my experience for the past few years, but not the best maybe.

Can you share more information about 派位this year?  How many students in band 2 in each class cannot promote to pui ching middle school?  How many band 1 students choose the other school?  For the band 2 students who cannot enter Pui Ching, are they successful in 叩門 on the other schools?  If yes, which shools are better?  Sorry for asking so many questions.  Actually my son is now in band 2 and he really tried very hard in the last exam.   I don't really know how can he jump to band one as the other students are so smart and everyone will surely try very hard to keep their ranking!  How to improve guided writing and 中作 ?  Do you have any suggestion on exercises, for example, which publisher... Do you still keep the worksheets on P6?    I feel so worried and really want to help him more.
