Ballet will become difficult in upper grades too. By that time, those with less interest will quit.
It would be difficult to convince a 5 years old to suffer for the sake of learning dancing. They only look for joy and fun in their extra curricular activities.
Forcing young kids to learn something they don't want is not a good idea, giving them a bad memory and wasting your money for nothing.

My girl is learning both chinese dance (grade 3) and ballet (grade 2).
Her ballet teacher does not require her to stretch a lot, but for chinese dance, she has to stretch, and do many other difficult steps. Sometimes the students even cry when they cannot do the postures.
If your girl is so against chinese dance, maybe you can switch her to ballet dance or other kinds of dance.
MY girl also likes ballet better than chinese dance. She learnt Jazz before and Jazz is her favourite.
