I see an advertisement today in Mingpao.  The primary school section would recruit a Vice-Principal.  Does anyone know if 葉副校長 going to retire in the coming year?

Firstly all the applicants will be waiting in a classroom, then the teacher will call the individual to go to another classroom to have an interview.
They were being asked some simple questions, ie. Did u take your breakfast yet? What story book do u like to read? It's around 10 mins. It's not difficult at all. Also, I did give the profolio to the school with the application form.

This school is good, I think it will become strong at future, but I know more than half will give up this year.

其實我覺得這所學校幾好,小班、英小、男校、普教中、中学又是英中。

我巳經向學校查詢過, may/09 要再交註冊費用 (留位費), 之後可以等待統一派位後才註冊, 我諗學校安排是方便計算將會有幾多人選讀這學校 :)

不過, 我諗真正選讀的並不多, 好多家長會將這間學校是後備選擇, 但校方最多只開3班小一, 但派出約150封取錄信真係好 :L

不如大家講下為何會選讀這間學校 :$

Share the same - but if parents don't give up, then it would be a big problem for the school; i chatted with the teacher the other days and found that they really can't offer more classes in primary because of capacity issues, i.e. no more teaching rooms available to primmary even if they wish so as secondary school need to comply with the government requirement of min. classes.

after attending the lessons three times, my sons quite  like the school. while waiting for them , i also found the students who are studying here are well-behaved. i don't know why so many parents give up the seats at last.

Hi jtsky,

I noticed the same problem.  Since I won't join the lucky draw so I didn't ask for the clarification.  You may need to confirm with school about this.

剛剛發現有張收生程序表,話要29-30May09註冊同交学費,雜費等等.我記得第一日上小一導晌課程時,有個簡介會副校長話等統一派位結果後,家長先再決定都得.但係統一派位吾係六月先公佈咩?究竟係我聽錯定睇錯?有冇家長可以解答下.謝謝!!!

My son is 10:45am - Green.
He said he is fine with the course. I really think this is really usefull cos they'll have a good preparation before going to PS, if P.1 starting to use the PTH to teach the Chinese subject. I don't think not all the school will organise such course.

其實我懷疑學生是否可以吸收到老師教既課程, 因為每次45分鐘便教了4頁紙, 我驚稍為吸收慢d的學生會跟不上呢

My son just so-so.  He said the classroom is old and the Mandarin teacher is quite "惡" if you cannot give the right answer.  It's seems that he does not enjoy the lessons.  We will wait and see.

However, I heard a kid replied to her mother: "very happy".

As a old boy of St. Louis (both primary and secondary school), I hope I can share some experiences to those of you who are planning to attend.

Most of the comments I hear from here sounds valid.  The academic level of the secondary school is not as competitive as in the old days.  But if you would like your son to be brought up as a humble, down to earth, and sincere gentlemen, this is a school to recommend.  Besides, the freedom we enjoy in the secondary school can be hardly find among Hong Kong, especially on the trust from the teachers to organize various extra-curricular activities by the students themselves.  This is a valuable opportunity for the students to build up their inter-communication skills.

Back to the primary school, I would say comparatively the academic support is better in primary to secondary.  In the past, the primary school is able to attract quality students and after the education they received in the primary forms, they are able to study with their own styles in secondary forms.  However, the competition has become severe since birth rate is low in HK.

One last comment, in the old days, everyone from primary will choose to continue to stay because it is such a good school to leave behind!  A classmate of mine who eventually got 9A in HKCEE also stayed and got such good result in secondary section.  Of course, this is really long time ago!

Trust they open 8 classes, 4 for 9 and 4 for 10:30, each 20; that means they offered around 160 seats; with 45 seats available that means 70% drop out expect by the school  - honestly i have a very good impression with this school, even compared to those 'bigger' names, don't un why drop out rate that high......

好開心見到咁多新人入黎交流，記得上年 li 個時候我都o係到post 過但回覆唔太多，今年咁多人入黎個人感覺學校已經做到某些成績多咗人留意聖類斯。
"導向課程"對小朋友適應小一真係好有幫助o架

4 classes at 9:00am. the vice-principle said that. two classes start English lesson first and are taught by NET teachers and then take turn. but i don't know how many classes at 10:30 am.
