開課二個月,妳的仔仔或女女,有無俾學校要求去做"Assessment"?

Yes, my son's has been requested to attend the assessment from their suggested Speech & Occuptional Therapist.  

I told them that I already done when my son was four but the class theacher said they would more rely and trust those with "International Exposure" but not those local one.

Why my son has been asked to attend the assessment ?

My son was not concentrate in listening and answer the questions in the class - then assessement from Speech Therapist was necessary.  In addition, my son was so easy over-excited while playing in the playground and sometimes his hand hitted someone while playing (sure not intentionally), then  Occuptional Therapist's assessment was required to see whether any problems with his body co-ordination.

Teachers are good at teaching but not good at assessing children whether they have special needs.  If children have speech problem or learning difficulties, they still need an expert to carry out the assessments.  

If parents are in doubt, they should contact your children's teacher.
