Any mom know what is the Chinese program in EFS Secondary school like? Is it similar to their Primary programme ? (like daily lesson according to different pathway?) What kind of text books they will be using? Thanks

Most probably Mandarin Chinese lesson wl be increased to daily for P1 and P2 too from 2009.  At least that is their plan anyway.

yes they use simplified Chinese in Mandarin class. P1-2 have 2-3 lessons each week. Upper class have more  lessons and grouped according their level.

Not sure if it applies to all ESF schools.

Hi,

Oh, may I know some information about Primary ESF, are all primary ESF having daily Chinese Lessons?  What do you mean by according to different pathway, will need to get into particular class to have daily Chinese Lesson?  Pls tell me more about the Chinese lesson for primary ESF.  What is the level of the Chinese, similar to local primary school?  Simplified Chinese and talked in Mandarin?

It will be good if they have the same Chinese level as local student. Are they using simplified Chinese in secondary school?   I find it difficult to buy supplimentary / story books in simplified Chinese.

One parent shared last year that her child in Year 7 at SC was using local Form One Chinese textbook. Of course not everyone can be that good. But still I would say that is pretty impressive.
