It is indeed a big struggle to choose between the 2 nuseries. My main reasons for choosing KCS on behalf of my baby are as follow:
1. I like the campus of KCS........it is much much bigger than Victoria. I think my baby will be happier learning in a spacious campus with both indoor and outdoor playground more than Victoria.
2. I have joined the playgroup of Victoria for my baby, very disppointed......though people say nursery and KG are better.
3.. My baby can sing a few songs in Mandarine after going to KCS in less than 1 month, it is amazing as no one at home teach her Mandarine........ I think it is a trade off between Mandarine and English when you choose between Victoria and KCS
4. The main point of going to Victoria is to learn English, but 2 of my friends told me that the English teacher of her baby's class in Vitoria are very passive, their daughters have not gained a lot from the english environment created........but, I think , if you are of better luck, your baby may meet an active english teacher
5. The fee of KCS is much much cheaper than Victoria........but more than half of the class in my baby's class is non-Chinese. Thus, with much lesser fee but more international environment than Victoria, I think it is worth of trying........
6. I totally agree that the administration of KCS is in chaos. I have also encountered a few very unfriendly adm. staff in KCS (I think they are from the KG section). Thus, I do not want to choose KCS at the beginning because of this too. But after all, how much will this have impact on my baby...... the key are the teachers, not the adm. staff, right?
Victoria is very famous as many rich people and famous stars' babies go there. Thus, it is all up to each parent to value which factor is more important. Hope the above help. |
