I bought the shoe at Joseph in early Aug 2008. It is rubber band instead of string because it is very hard to handle the string by a little child. My daughter feet is extremely small, the saleslady helps me to tie the rubber band more tight that make my daughter will not throw away the shoe.

I bought the shoes from 森發, but the shoes have no shoestring, they have elastic instead. Do you know it is correct or not?
