單以中學校網的優勢,有條件的當然首選中西區啦(個人意見)。

King's College

今年interview list 有成 around 300人，
數學會幾難，
創意題(e.g. 一舊電芯有甚麼用？)
跟着要向一位老師講一個topic 3分鐘(英文)再做 group discuss
最後見校長/副校長

Usually, you can exempt around 25% tution fee if you have a middle class family. If you own a private flat which is under mortgage, you have better chance to obatin 50% tution fee redem. However, the application is subject to change and the approval by the principal.

If your kid is a top student, SPCC can still offer the place. There are not too many students in SPCC who got 1st in class of their primary school. However, SPCC will grant first year tution free if your kid is 1st in class and get the offer. Otherwise, you need to pay HK$4,800/month.

La Salle College/ST. Joseph College belongs to same religious body - 喇沙修士會 , the brothers are interested on education of logical thinking. In contrast, the religious body of Wah Yan College (HK & KLN) - 耶穌會 prefers freedom of learning. Queen's/King's College is still operated by Education Bureau 教育局 which has rigid school management. Compared QC/KC with the aforesaid schools, it is not common to obtain budget to improve the school administration and teacher development via fund raising. Meanwhile, all of them are tution free.

Hi Heart,

King's 方面我不清楚, 只聽聞面試都幾難, 我個仔果班有4個入左King's, 另外一班好似有3個入左.
QC 方面我個仔學校有兩個入左, 不過都應該抽入去既, 有個考5x冇面試機會, 另1個考頭幾名有面試, 不過6年級考第一果個都入唔到QC, 去左King's
St. Joseph 傳聞係幾注重數學既, 當日面試都問左3條數學題, 1條淺, 1條中等, 1條奧數.....
Paul boy's 叩門應該冇得apply獎學金, 不過好似每年考頭果3名有獎學金(唔確定)

BTW, would u mind to share more on St Joseph & Kings? How does the school conduct the interview? As for SJ,
it is very high demanding on Maths? I only know they aredrilling and lots of homework and test. Just curious that
students from outsider may not be easily integrated with
their students from internal or they have formed
classes distinguishing each others. I know some teachers
would not let their sons to study in this school because of
the attitude and morale of St Josephians. Do you agree?

Whilst, is that mean the "Free tution" of Paul Boys' would
not be granted to those "Lock Door applicants" ? I am
considering it as my last option after reading yr analysis
because the chance to get in looks like easier than SPCC,QC and even Kings/St Joseph.

I feel that the school options of Western Central are
pretty low. Dash !

Hi Heart,

Paul Boy's 面試係個人形式, 家長同學生先係第一間房等, 叫名後會有工友帶佢去另一間房, 比份英文文章佢睇(有其他學生等緊), 約15分鐘後, 會被單獨帶去見3位老師, 英文對話還繞該編文章約15分鐘, 然後去另一間房等, 跟住會去見可能係副校長既房, 用中文閒談下, 因為我個仔比較多數學獎狀, 所以副校就用英文問左一條好易既數學題 : 如果你有一張100紙, 去超市買左排$9既朱古力, 仲剩幾多錢? 全部過程給50分鐘.
Spcc : 先係禮堂考, 禮堂上有前後兩排老師, 每排約有10位老師, 前排考英文, 後排考普通話. 學生先被安排係傍邊睇英文文章, 約15分鐘後叫名去前排其中一位老師進行英文面試, 完成後到後排進行普通話面試. 然後在禮堂另一邊等, 等齊約20多學生後, 全被安排去一間房睇英文video, 睇完後3個人一組去另一間房見老師, 先個人單獨入房面試約5分鐘, 到第3個都完成後, 就3個學生入晒去一齊討論(全英文).... 全個過程由去禮堂到出返黎約共1.5小時!!
Spcc會接見約400位學生, 我個仔同學考約第10名都有面試機會, QC應該係第一第二先有, 我個仔有幾個前幾名都冇面試機會, 而我個仔去QC面試時都有撞到去Paul Boy's 考既學生. 仲傾左幾句...

PS : 其實當初我地係冇諗住會得既, 只係諗住比多幾次面試機會個仔試, 等個仔知道真正面試係點, 到自行分配時有多d準備.

Co-edu by group discussion or individual 呢?佢哋又考什麽範疇的問題呢?我亞仔老師話Co-edu & QC 只對全級Top 1,2 的學生有興趣,is this true ?可否透露難在那方面?有冇自我介紹環節或分析題或聯想創意題?偏向學朮性還是其他?

至於5級樂理, 原先打算報考,但教樂理的老師話要有心理準備好
tough and lots of exerices on coming mths upto
examination. I'm afraid my son is unable to spare extra
time on studying the pieces which eventually would drop down his 呈分試.所以便擱置到明年才考.這是否很錯失呢?若然有大幫助,我會再給仔仔分析.他於8月20日還要回校attend
intensive class for good sake of P6.

Hi Heart,

其實聖保羅書院我地本身冇諗住考既, 不過該校好似呢幾年會發d"學校提名"既form比某d小學校長, 由小學校長提名(當然係有通知我地去唔去啦), 好似係5年級5名之內, 今年我地估計應該約有40名學生去考, 會收10名免首年學費, 以後果5年只要係頭30%內就免費, 係今年年頭已經面試及甄選左, 成功後該校有信通知, 但唔使註冊住, 只要係大抽獎時將該校放係第一位, 就算係自行分配入左其他學校, 你都仲有權可以入返聖保羅書院, 其實係7月8日果日該校都有打電話問我地讀唔讀, 不過我地放棄左. 面試唔太難, 先睇編英文文章, 然係入房同3個老師講翻文章內容, 然後去另一間房見好似副校長用中文傾下, 問下佢d獎狀/獎項點得翻來, 中間就用英文問左條好簡單既數學題. 另外, 我覺得收生標準唔係太高, 我個仔同學考約30, 叩門都成功.
相對考spcc就難好多, 好多家長都話好似考狀元咁, 我個仔都話係最難, 難過QC/st. Joseph's college.
我個仔都唔太多獎項, 主要比較多係數學方面, 5級鋼琴, 5級樂理, 有d服務證書(賣旗, 執垃圾等等), 校內就優秀風紀生, 優秀圖書管管理員, 傑出學生等等. 我個仔個女同學考約10名, 冇乜特別獎項, 佢都係5月通知收左....我覺得spcc比較注重英文溝通(對答)能力, 面試會佔幾高比重.
