Dear all,

For this Maths assessment, does anyone know whether there is only English version or there are both Chinese version and English version?

The marks are expressed as “your score was in the top xx% of P.x participants in HK”.

If it is the latter case, does it mean that the top xx% refers to the ranking among all participants (both English Maths and Chinese Maths) sitting for this assessment?

1) This prize winner list 2007 is for the "international assessment of schools" and I am not 100% sure whether this is the result for "The University of New South Wales international assessment" last year or not?
I just assume the two are the same.
But I could be wrong!!!

2) To be the prize winners, obviously the pupils have to the really the  top of the subject among all pupils/schools in HK that have participated in this assessment.

3) If you look at the list closely, you should be able to find in page 3  one P.5 TSL pupil who is on the list.  He got the Subject Award -- English (Primay School).

其實學校如要谷band 1 學生不難,只要學校和家長一齊谷, 一d專注力低和心散的學生可能會好辛苦, 又要補習, 做功課做到喊, 天資聰敏的當然冇問題啦, 好易就成為band1學生, 一間band 1生多的學校好唔好, 見人見智

To be honest with you, personally I do not place a top priority on how many % of band 1, 2 and 3 pupils this school has.
If I concern such figures very much, I might not choose TSL for my child.
Also, the banding of pupils may change every year.

As you know well, the "rule of the game" may change again and again in the coming years.

What concerns you more is what the system (or rule of the game)  would be for your child 6 years later.
No one knows what will happen in future.

我都唔知原來学校website有公怖成績
我仔仔上年都有考, 2科都係top5%左右
今年有d驚喜,陳守仁的英文水平真不錯
仔仔校內英文成績只是中上

Then do you know the percentage of band 1 students in the last few years?  According to the school's info of 06/07, there were 174 graduates.  Out of them,  62 band 1 students and  71 students going to DSS.  Students  going to DSS are even more than those going to traditional schools, why?  And  it is hard to figure out the actual number of band 1.

As for the banding of pupils, I think only the school will know this and it is not allowed to announce such information publicly.
I think normally parents of P.5-P.6 pupils will ask the school/teachers to get some information about the bandng of their children when they need to fill in the form for choosing secondary schools.

Sorry to interrupt.  Found the results also today fr the school's website.  Is it an assessment for certain level say P5&6, or all pupils from P1-6 can join?  The school only released the no. of distinctions, credits,etc but no info of the total TSL pupils participating.   And is it an assessment of authority?  Any use?  Thanks.
