After reading the all old post for this topic, I have a question. As quoted from 2008 Ming Po " 1/3 to 1/4 form 1 or S7 students are come from outside" But on the other hand , from another old post, ...
Before 2008, there's only 2 classes of G6, after that 4 classes. So, before 2008, there're 3 classes of G7 while 1/3 are coming from other schools.
There's around 80% of G6 students going to GT G7(now 4 classes) ; it's around 90+ to 100 G6 students every year , so there's around 70-80 G6 going to G7 !
The G6 students who meet the criteria of G7 entry, will be offered a place, it's around 90% of students. Some may go aboard while some may go to other schools.....The figure is just a estimation, maybe next year 95% of G6 students go to G7!

The maths does not tie, 1/4 or 1/3 S7 student is around 24 to 32 students come from outside, which means only 64 to 72 students came from S6. THis should only be 66 to 75% of S6 student capable of promoting to S7.
Can anyone tell me the correct figure of students eligible for S7 each year??
HI, I'm a newcomer of the GT family, and my daughter will be studying P1 in 2009.
I have 2 questions, hoping you/ some of you knows the answer.
Having gone through the brief info of the ...
Dear Yurata,
Actually all primary students can go to secondary section as they meet the requirement in G5 & 6 as edea stated:-
學生須在小五上、下學期及小六上、下學期達到下列要求:
a. 英文(70分或以上);中、數、常、普、視、音(60分或以上)
b. 操行(B級或以上)
1. Any specific reason(s) for the differential ?
GT moved to TKO campus in 2003, before that it's a small private school (school fee >$5,000/month) with only 2 classes in each grade. Hence only 30-40+ students in G6 every year before 2007, thus for the first 3 years of secondary section, there're only 2-3 classes of G7 to cater all G6 GT students.
For this yesr 08/09, there're 4 classes of G7 with around 91 students(22-23 in each class), all GT G6(07/08) students who met the requirement were all accepted.
That's the reason why there're :
G7 X 4, G8 X 3, G9 X 3, G10 X 2 now.
2. If all students pass the minimum requirements, and all of them choose to further their secondary studies in GT, what will happen ?
Furthermore, there won't be any drop-out unless the students fail to meet the requirement. So, there'll be G7 X 4, G8 X 4, G9 X3, G10 X 3 & G11 X 2 next year.
From now on, there'll be G7 X 4 every year as there're 4 classes in each grade in primary section.

Having gone through the brief info of the secondary school, there are 78 students in 3 classes.
Since there are a total of 96 students graduating from GT P6, if the school is one of the through-train school as claimed, there will be 18 (96-78) places shortage.
