請問 根德園 OR 聖若望 你點睇??

我知道LEE 兩間學校都比較好, 但一間係全日, 一間係半日, 不過唔知學費同雜費係幾多,
我希望小朋友可以讀其中一間, 不過詳情唔清楚, 有冇各位媽媽可以講下一D 意見呢?? 唔該曬各位.

I heard that there were about 40 boys accepted by DBSPD last year. In my son's class this year, at least two got offer by DBSPD, two by DGJS, two by SPCC, some go to SFA, Ying Wa, La Salle, MCG etc. Of course, some may duplicate offers like DBSPD and SPCC both accepted. The academic performance and behaviour of KV is well known among those famous school.

clarification: 5% of the boys...(assume 1/2 is boys and 1/2 is girls. Within this 5%, there are some old boys, some from same church and some have borthers in DBSPD.

Besides, I know there are 21 K3 classes in KV and about 30 students in each class, 5% means about 36 - 37 students were admitted to DBS, which is one single class already. If there are 6 classes in DBS, that means 1/6 of the P1 students are from KV. That could be an amazing percentage.

我有朋友個仔都係ｋｖ畢業，之後去咗喇沙小學，佢個仔ｄ中英文都好ｔａｌｋ得，所有我都有諗過！而家中小學派位要大抽獎，我覺得好煩，又擔心第時阿仔抽唔到好學校，所以我都有諗過耀中，一條龍，但學費貴又唔知ｃｕｒｒｉｃｕｌｕｍ係點，始終自己都係傳統學校出身，唔知國際學校係點？因為我驚太ｆｒｅｅ，阿仔唔知學到ｄ　 ｍｕｇ？

LS & MCS are by government allocation. It doesnot matter come from which kinder. Each year there are <5% of KV kids get in DBS.  No of stsudnet of KV x 5% = answer..ie as you says a few can get to DBS.

Do you have any real stat. to support your argument? It's an arbitrary statement that "Very few manage to go to top tier DSS schools such as SPC, DBSPD, DGJS". What is the percentage of KV of getting into such so-called "top tier DSS/private schools" in comparison with SC?

In fact, I know quite a few students in KV managed to get accepted by DBSPD and DGJS successfully and many of them have been allocated to some prestigious primary schools such as La Salle and Maryknoll.

Why?? THen most of KV graduates go to SFA, what is SFA?? what are the othere choices they always go in primary level??

聖羅撒不是一間程度深的幼稚園，亦沒有普通話課，新學期才開始有外籍英語老師，而每星期一共只有2小時的英文課，不是每日都有的，如需要比較深的課程就不適合妳了，本人朋友囡囡現在在聖羅撒讀K1，但她的女兒下學開始寫某些英文字的大楷，現在學期完都未寫哂A-Z。  但如果要求德育好的，就要選聖羅撤。  聖羅撒也取錄本人女兒，但放棄了入讀此校。

迦南唔算深，而且聽聞佢地為左攞學劵會改課程，有外籍老師唔代表d乜，街頭巷尾街坊幼稚園都好多有外籍老師，咪一樣收生不足，老實講為左考私小/直資，點都係揾間名氣大d幼稚園着數d！

The application date for KV is usually the end of Sept or the beginning of Oct.  The interview will be around late Oct.

I agree with you that that are so many questions and myths about KV.  However, after my 2 sons have attended this school, I think KV will meet many parents' expectation.

I agree that some teaching methods KV adopted are 'old' but remember, many parents always complain why their kids cannot be considerate/hardworking etc as when they were young.  'old' does not mean it is not good.

I disagree with some negative comments about kV especially when he said 'children will not say no in KV teacher', definitely not apply to all KV students.  Perhaps some kids are born to be more expressive and some not.  Children are trained to hold responsibility of themselves rather than relying on others in this school.  They know which side of the staircase for going up, and which way is going down, they will say 'no' to me if I walk the wrong side.  Some parents think this rule is too rigid, most KV parents think this is great because they are trained to live in a mini society, as  responsible persons who follow order does not mean they don't have brains!

The curriculum is well written and that is why KV kids don't see the curriculum as so hard as outsiders see or think.  When i received the exam papers from my sons, I was very surprised that they have learnt so many things in school without my help.  Of course, many mothers work with children together everyday and their results are much better than my sons.  However, I think they are good enough even without much revision at home.  

Another consideration is that KV does not teach kids phonics and PTH is only taught once a week.  So many parents take kids to these classes as ECA.

I am sure many parents from KV are all very supportive and you can always go to KV forum to ask other moms comments.  

This also prove that it is a school with high quality.  I hope these info. will help you.

根德園出來的孩子,除了學術上有保證外,重好自律地温書及做功課,而且讀得好開心,又無乜什費,很多小學都好鍾意根德園的畢業生!!!
不過亦都很多人報名,唔易入,亦不收插班生.

My kid graduated there and many classmates go to very famous english schools.  Tranditional and your kid must sit properly in class otherwise it is better go to international kindergarten.

咁請問有邊間學校會深過根德園呢?

點解根德咁奇怪.好多人都話佢好, 但又冇網址, 又冇其他渠道知道佢地嘅野, 連家長都唔知佢地的教學方法, 咁點樣好, 好響邊, 有冇人可以解答根德園神秘之迷!!

另外我想問下, 根德的洗費大唔大, 每月要用幾多錢, 多唔多雜費 有冇D咩活動要另外比錢呢, 等等, .....

Kentville's methodology is same as our good old day ...no fun but learn to write chinese fast, english conversation and reading are poor. A lot of dictation. Good displine and never say "no" to teacher. (Same outcome as what we are !!!). However, they have good record to get 2nd tier in private and DSS school which definitely a "Plus".
Good or bad .. it depends what you are looking for ..

唔使客氣，大家交流下，我個小朋友係中環聖公會幼稚園讀，我覺得超好 ，校舍大，校長、老師、嬸嬸都好有愛心同耐性、小朋友返學好開心。
