20分有冇可能入到st. joseph(wan chai)?

my husband was an old boy and my son is the right age (so 10+10=20points)? Is there any interview or do i need to do portfolio in this method?

其實我無乜心得。
基本對於有直屬中學嘅派位生，
都無乜特別選校策略。
Band one 嘅只係睇吓考唔考/報唔投報多一間
(認為好過St.Jospeh)
Band two 嘅都無乜家長捨St. joseph取其它
(即放棄中央)

幾多band 1,幾多band 2 無公開，
家長喺每次呈分後都知自己的banding。

至於我...check PM please。

agree agree . is your son in St. Joseph now? How is he doing in there then. Find it difficult ?
My husband seems to lose all his memory when i asked him about the school life in St. Joseph.

咁你有20分都比好多人好。
其實全港只有St.Joseph 有8班(之前),
而家cut 咗都仲有5班，仲係全男生位，
係HK island 都無第二間，
如果你唔用old Boy 分，
就得番10 分，即係無分...
計落都係St.joseph 機會最大。

8班容易入，代價係升中競爭大；
5班難入啲，你有20分已有chance,
touchwood叩門都着數啲，係咪？

除了Old boy score and 適齡兒童 score , i do not have other score. I have asked them about the religious marks, their answer was that the child needs to be a catholic in order to obtain this 5 points.
It wasnt my friends who couldnt get in with 20 points. but since St. Joseph will cut class in 0809 (from 8 classes to 5 classes) , i was told that 20 points may not be able to get in .

no need to say sorry la, i wasnt challenge you but just want to make the things clear. I went to a kindergarten to ask about the scoring information, and surprising they know so little on this issue and could not give me the information i want . It is more efficient to ask other mothers in here. Thanks anyway.

I dont understand why如用了Old boy 分便不可再用以下兩項分數

(6)	與該校的辦學團體有相同的宗教信仰	5 分
(7)	父母為該小學辦學團體的成員	5 分

from the definition:申請人只能在第(1) 至(5) 項及/ 或(6) 至(7) 項中各選一項填報, so does it mean even i use the old boy score , i still can use the religious score?
can you explain more?

My son is in P1 now.  He got 20 points and in that year, 20 points is almost guarantee to get in during the 1st round.

thank you for you info. So the 5 points of the religious score does make a big difference. is your son in St. Jo? how did he get here then?

As of now, St Joseph is still an aided school, so you still use the points system, ie no interview during first round.  If you, your husband or your son is not catholic, then you only have 20 points and you might not get in during the first round since St Jo has cut 3 classes with effect from September 2008.  But if your son is catholic, then he'll get 5 more points so he should get in for sure.  If your son is not catholic, but you or your husband is, then please check with the school as they did count before.
