Like my son, going a few school interviews first can only give him the idea of interview, how it will be,etc. However, for a kid, they won't know if they have answered good enough, the manner is good or not,etc. I ended up finding out myself as he was inteviewed by Vice Principal one time and we went in also. Then, I finally realized what the problem is. Too bad we found out too late and he didn't do good in several good schools already. That is why I tell you my personal experience here.

You don't really need to take interview class if you can do it yourself, in Eng and/or Chi, but you must do once with him/her just exactly like an interview and see how your child behaves. Otherwise, you may ask school teacher to help. If you have to join interview class outside, see if they have mock interview first. Do once and get some comment only. Definitely don't just sign up those so-called 10 classes interview training immediately if you still don't know what your child needs to be trained.

I thought the same way in the beginning and gave him more interview chances first. However, some interview skills must be taught first, it won't help no matter how many times they went there. And some schools interview are just too tough too.

Agreed and I think debate class is helpful. My son is taking English debate not long ago, should have started earlier in P5 summer.

I think you should train the English oral if your child is weak in this part esp. picture description part, QC and LSC have this part. In SPCC, my son's classmate was asked to tell a story using a few cards in mandarin. However, my son was given one topic instead (cooking).

囡囡去年暑假有柴娃娃同幾個同學報面試班,我一眾媽咪認為佢哋係當gathering多點,可能太熟,得著係沒甚麼


同木土土囡囡一樣都有報GH,囡囡話in GH時,口都震埋,但到後期見SPCC/SPCS/SMC時已係第二個人 囡囡認為實戰最要緊. 面試班的老師係”就”住你,但學校的老師係唔會,甚麼刁鑽意想不到的問題都會問到.


聽完佢講,如我係你,會甚麼直資都會報,猶其那些早面試的學校…..我咁教人會不會比人打


亦同意木土土的講法,可能司儀班及辯論班會更有用

與其讀interview班, 不如考慮吓司儀班及辯論班, 兩者都會訓練說話技巧例如眼神接觸, 聲線及姿勢, 不單對面試, 對將來學校做presentation都好有幫助, 尤其是辯論班, 討論的題目也多同時事有關!

至於interview, 可看看其他沒興趣讀既直資學校的面試日期, 報一兩間當練習, 我囡之前考goodhope (無唸住讀) 都係因為佢比spcs早一星期面試, 考goodhope 時阿囡要自己填form, 佢竟然連自己個名都填錯 (e.g. 寫咗Amy Chan, 而身份証係Chan Ka Yi Amy), 我發現時想改又無帶塗改帶, 寫到張form花晒! 呢d都係一個好既經歷, 因不是發生在考心儀的學校.

Sorry, Sundayoff, I don't have any teacher to recommend because I picked the wrong one last time myself.

If you can't do a mock interview for your child yourself, you can ask the school teacher to help. I even asked my friend one time too.

I have some sample questions that I got from another bk topic before. PM me if you want that.

Be careful when you look for interview class, some are just "making money", not really helps. I learnt my lesson before.

Actually, you can try one time in cantonese using some question samples and see how she does first. I do believe some kids don't need training if they can respond clearly with good organization, may only need to train the manner for the interview, that can be done by parent easily (just like you interview for a job).

謝謝回覆, 希望明年升中能一切順利. 因為曾聽過因時间
互撞, 而不能改期, 最後只好放棄一間津校的interview.

SPCC was on March 1 and Ying Wa was on March 1 and 8. You should find out their interview dates before applying. I did call Ying Wa before regarding this and they said they can try to change if that really happens.

I never recommend people to take any interview class before as I thought those only teach them to memorize model answers. However, after my son got rejected from SPCC and ying wa, (DBS is no hope neither). I think interview practice is very important and should start early. If you can speak English, you can do more mock interviews with your daughter first and see what her problem is. Then, find ways to improve them accordingly and should do this as early as possible.

I did many mock interviews with son before QC interview last time, and finally I think he did good. We are still not sure if we can make it this time, but at least we tried our very best already.
