I think the reason is you can have more choices in secondary schools after they finish P.6 in IJSS.
My main reason to let my girl study in international stream is that I like her to have good foundation of languages, both English and Putonghua. Besides, she can also enjoy the small class and interactive teaching in IJSS. One more important point is, unlike the traditional international school, she can keep up the Chinese standard as the main stream students.
Actually, I'm still struggling in the direction after my girl finish P.6. Certainly, she can go back study in the main stream English Secondary School such as TTCA or she may try to apply for the other international schools like Renaissance College. Thirdly, I'm considering some of the new DSS schools like Creative and GTS.
As mentioned by other mom, the curriculum of IJSS is actually, a mixture of mainstream (mainly Chinese and Maths) with reference from IB and other oversea primary schools (mainly English and GS) so that the students are prepared to have diverse choices of school after graduation. |
