The only worry you should have is whether your kid will be accepted by the ESF kinder.
An expat from US working in a famous financial institution told me two weeks ago that his kids had applied to the ESF kinder and primary but were placed on the waiting list. No interview has been offered yet.
If you look at the turnover of HK stock market (increase from ~HK$10B three years ago to HK$150B a day), you will know how many financial institutions (From all over the world and China) are setting up in HK. Most of them send their kids to IS so you should understand the places available to local kids are fewer and fewer.
For local Chinese, graduates from ESF kinder will have a higher priority than those who are not.
Just my two cents.
