1. thank you for you information obtained from the principal of the school.

2. weeks prior to the applications, i had a chance speaking with the principal over the phone regarding other matter. the principal had guranteed that they would spend enough time, patience and effort to allow every applicant to warm up and to encourage them responding to their requested targets etc.

   that was the reason why some applicants spent 30 mintues whereas some applicants took 60 mintues to complete their first interview.  we could judge that the principal had done her very best effort allowing every applicant (within 60 minuttes!) to demonstrate their abilities and talents etc.

3. we should praise for the principal's good deeds and effort!

4. i was advised that the principal of dgjs just allowed 5 to 15 mintues (less than or about 10 mintues interviewing time are the norm!) for 2 applicants to demonstrate their abilities and talents etc. in the same time slot.

4.1 please guess it might take how many minutes for the young kids adjusting to the new environment and to speak to a strange adult befoe another young stranger.

4.2 please guess how the principal could use her talents and skills to :
  a] distinguish which applicant was better performed than the other girl at that inteview; and

  b] distinguish whether the two young girls were better performed or  poorly peformed as compared with all the other girls who had already completed their respective interview.

we all need to bear in mind that the talented principal is speaking to 2 young strangers and she only has 10 minutes to make her right decision.

we imagine that it is definitely a tough job for the talented principal to properly discharge her responsibilties! o had forgotten how many young strangers whom the talented and skillful prnicipal will meet in 2007!

5. i had received 600 applicants applying for an executive job with over one million annual package and i must say i had no such talents and skills to do  the job in a proper and fair manner in light of the 10 minutes time constraint!

one tell dg like to admit or admit a very high % of girls from 2-4 kd la1 why la!

I personally think that  will never be a fair game. But if you ask me which interview style will be more fair, i think SPCC will do. Of course, provided that they will admit student according to the assessment result.

you say  connection wa. i think there is connection in most of the well known school. spccps and dg are run by the same church org. skh church. their app. form require the same info. like same reg. skh, old girls, church member, sister/brother, parents wok in schools etc.  hence, the  reqquirments are the same for both school. hence, connection factor equally apply to both spccps and dg la.

spccps tell only 45 places is opened to unnconneted applicants. wa, do you know how many places in dg is opened to unconnected applicants la?

some ma write good enlgish must write to the dg lady ask this info la. out of the total 120? places, how many place is for unnconcted applicants la!

we think spccps principal do not have crystal ball hence they need to spend time 30-60 min, including warm up time for our bb attending intereview in new places la speak to new pesons la. do youthink it is a good and fair interveiw to all young bb la?

do you know how many other shcools lady use only 5-10 minutes for 2 girls interview la?  are the other schools lady /man also have crystal ball like dg lady?

conncection alaways play important factor in both spc, spccps and dg (same skh church run schools), so many many unconnnected applicants apply for just 45 places, tell spccps use same interview method like dg la, use just 5-10 min to see 2 applicants la! so many boys and girls are rejected by spccps, tell spccps do not waste our applicatin time and interview time la, spccps learn from dg lady la!

I believe the selection of DGJS is wholly not as assessment, or any result/grade achieved during the interview; I know  parent of an admitted girl told us that she cannot answer some basic questions(  say her home telephone
number )
Mrs. Dai has a good judegement from her experience and so she will pick up every DGJS girl by herself.
SPCC is another story, but  conenction plays the most important role.

If you ask me, outstanding girls/boys should need little
time for say warm-up period as you said.

if the boy or girl take time to warm up, say using 20 min  or more to warm up, so the school is willing to spend 60 mintues in totla to interview your girl or boy .

is it fair to all parents and young boy and girl la! if your girl or boy is a slow starter using 20 mintues warm up time before using their brain to solve the problem, will you appreciate the inteviesw time use by spcc?


if your girl is a slow starter, needs 10 mintues to warm up before use her brian to asnwer dg lady questins. sorry la!, the dg lady because the lady tell you girl to leave her room after waiting your gril brain not working for just 6 minutets.

is it a good interviw method la!

we are aduilt, if you look for job and you need a few mintues to warm up in new environlent speak to stranger, but la! the man just give yuou 5-8 min inteveiwing time and your brain is cold to work la! will you feel happy ha!

If some kids just sit there without saying anything, even 5 seconds, the principal can judge they are out and so do us.  If the kids answers the questions very properly, 5 mins will be enough (I guess).  

Don't spend time on counting the interview time but the quality.

I tend to believe SPCC just reject all candidates for the category of no relationship, those ( 60 ) granted chance for second interviewa are mostly connected in some means ( not officially ) or backed up with strong letter of
reference.
If your kids are not accepted, it is normal and don't be
upseted.

There is meaningless to judge between the principals between the two schools. In fact, each of them got excellent experience in choosing the right kids for their school. If you were the principal, what brilliant ideas that you would have!

MTR,

I know there is no perfect means in any selection, a case study from Harvard for a job selection found that a random choice is just as good as an interview conducted in scientific ways they believed.

For DGJS, we has to admitted its fairness that the principal is seldom make wrong choices ( of course one can never pick the best candidates in any means ), because she will try best to select the best 120 girls out of the 2000 candidates. But for SPCC, the principal or her teachers are responsible to select just top 40 out of 1,400 ( non-related )
pupils and the rate is so low that they tend to reject everyone unless on a extreme case of perfect match of impression and emotion. I know Principal Li did not meet all the candidate this year.
