Do you know whehter Shatin Junior School is a member of Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association or not? I have been told by HKSMSA that SJS is a member but the class teacher told me that they have stopped helping students to apply..

Being a member doesn't mean the school will put in application for its students, especially for solo events.  This happens in most schools as well.  They will only enroll for school teams like choirs and bands.  If you wish to enroll for you kid, you need to ask your private tutor to do it (provided that he/she is a member).
