Dear All,

My son is P.2B student.  

Yesterday my son complained that he did a Chinese Penmanship with 15 words and expressions.  Each words and expressions needed to copy 4 times.  He wrote about 120 chinese words a day.  After completion of this homework, his fingers felt very painful.

I really did not understand why the teachers asked the pupils to write so many times and words in one day.  Could any parents of P.2A, 2C & 2D tell me if your kids need to write 4 times for each words and expressions?

Yes, it is more than before.

But..... our kids' work load is far less than 2C.

The work load for 2C is.....extremely......large....unbelieveable.  (before the last term exam.)

Dear 2B Parent,

No such homework in 2A, is it a punishment or homework? My child sometimes will make such a copy due to punishment, for the class teacher sometimes said that they were too noisy.

No, this is not punishment.  All P.2B pupils are required to write 5 times for each words and expressions in every penmanship.

I'm P.2A parent. P.2A students do not need to write 5 times (only 1 time).  I think the teacher of your class is very demanding.  I don't agree this method.

I think for 2A, it's always 4 or 5 times for each words, but usually it should be 7 or 9 words will be chosen from text book to copy, so each time it is almost one page of words need him to copy in his permanship book. It's acceptable for him and me.

It's really too much Chinese writing for a day.  I think three times for each word is reasonable for child.

If only one time for chinese words copy and one page in the permanship homework book only, I think acceptable. Copying words sometimes not for learning and understanding the words, but also can train up their patient manner, however, if too much words copying, they will hate Chinese subject, that will be the problem. What about the other class? Only one time and one page permanship in each week?

Hi

My kid is in 2C.

For Chin penmanship, we only copy 詞語, instead of sentences. Number ranges from 10-15. Not tooooo many.

Regarding workload, I think is far less than last year. Where do you learn that 2C is heavily loaded? I really don't think so. Pls share.

if double word or 3-word, copy for one line
if 4-word, copy 2 lines

Yesterday, my son (in 2B) got 22 lines of Chinese Penmanship, don't you think it's too much? It seems getting more and more. I wonder if the teacher can separate them into two days, 11 lines per day. I guess it's better for them to learn as well.

Who is 2B's Chinese teacher? My girl in 2A only needs to copy 11lines(max per week) normally it is around 9 lines.

Same as Class 2D.  They need to write maximum one page of the Chinese Ex book only.

Of course too much.  Totally they need to write over 220 Chinese words.  So cruel and sadic.

My kid just got the Chinese assessment paper today. Failed !!!!!

Heard that quite a lot of kids also failed. How are your kids and the other classes doing?

I have heard from my child that the assessment was quite difficult, he has not yet got the paper back. But he said that he has no confidence in the result. I just want to know how difficult it was.....
