It is authorized as an IB School recently. In my understanding, all the authorized IB schools are running under supervision of the IB authority. Just like those international schools in HK eg. FIS, CIS etc..

Since VSA is new for its secondary section, so we could hardly trace the performance of its secondary section history. However, if you trust the IB authority, then it would be a good choice for you to choose.

A few of traditional schools in HK are trying to transform to an IB School. More or less, it shows the standard of the IB authority.

So what do you think?

IBO's authorisation to a school does not guarantee high quality students, it only ensure you that the students can take IB exams at the end.  IB results of different schools can vary a lot, it is just the same case as taking the HKCEE exam, 20000 students can still get 0 marks every year.

For example, Yew Chung and some other International schools have track records for many years, you can take a look at their results and you will know that IB schools also have different standards.

Agree with WYmom. Just like DBS, SPCC, QC... those tradition schools. They could have students with extremly good results in HKCEE, and also have so-so students. It all depends on individual's hard work.

However, if you are already sick with the local education system and with no confidence in the 334. Then IB world schools will be your alternative choice.

Moreover, VSA has been doing very hard to achieve her IB goal and seems doing quite well in the past few years. That's why she could gain the authorization from the IBO for her middle school. As I know she used only 16 months to gain it while some other local schools are still working on it hard without knowing when could achieve.

IB課程中，能拿到35 points或以上的學生比率:

李寶樁----------約三分之二

漢基------------約一半
香港法國國際---約一半

燿中------------約三分之一

全球平均--------約四分之一

在香港，其他的國際學校唔知係高過全球平均，定低過呢？

ESF Shatin College (exclude those taking A-level): 55% students got 35pts or above.

李寶樁's results is the best because it only has F.6 & 7 and it accepts the very top students only.  Most students get in by scholarship.

Victoria has no track record yet.

即是好成績的同學約佔三分之一，和本港的耀中差不多。但平均分就可能低一點，因為最高的一位都只有41分，而又有5位低於24分。

those in HK should be better as hk is more open.

Regarding to the marking scheme of  the IB Diploma assessments. Judgement of the external examiner of the IBO takes 20% to 30% of the total mark. That means even the student got full mark from his own teachers but it doesn't mean he could get the same mark from the IBO examiners. It expains why not everybody could get high point and it makes the IB Diploma recognizable in the world.
