Do u think it is helpful?? Do you need to take any course for that? Where would u take the course or what u would do in preparation?? Is it easy or difficult? Any experienced parents would share your case? How old when your children take that of what grade?

有用。Cambridge的考試很有系統。考試的範圍可用作參考給孩子去學英語。但是Cambridge YLE的考試形式是它最大的缺點，因為這是為母語不是英語的小朋友而設計的，所以只會出現很少量的生字，和沒有英文作文，因此可只操past paper去應考，而不用學考試範圍所要求的英語知識。

升中學方面，Cambridge Flyers應該唔夠，即係冇用。我相信要考到Cambridge PET或以上才會有用。我上過去i-cube那兒，佢地有course給小學生考KET，PET和FCE。我見佢個list上面有不少小五學生考PET。

我認為在宣小讀小三的學生應該可以不用再take courses，就可以考Flyers，因為下學期教完directions和weather後，Flyers的主題生字應該已經學過了，所差的只是grammar和一些英語句子結構。Grammar會包括simple passive被動式、past continuous過去進行式、和present perfect過去分詞。他們用的readers會有見過這些文法，不過在小三是不會正式教的。句子結構主要只差tag questions。

所以只要教相差的內容就可以了。如果只為考試，不為學英文，甚至可以只操past paper，而不去理會相差的課程內容，我相信一樣可以過到。Cambridge YLE並不太難。

我都打算安排囡囡在來緊的暑假考Flyers。

Thanks for your advice. I also got up I-Cube. I did not even know I sign a reply slip to school. They called my daughter to have a test and class. I finally decided to take the flyer class for her so I also hope to have her taking the test during summer holidays. And if it's alright, it may be a good idea to take the higher level exam later on before end of P5.

By the way, how is your little boy doing at school? Hope he enjoys it and get something good out of it!!

我個囝囝早些時出了第一份成績表。和預期一樣，最差係語文(language)。9項語文的評估中，只有4項做到，有5項做不到。英語做到，而普通話做不到。

我個女出生時，她的祖父母會過來照顧她，所以她的第一語言是廣東話。但是囝囝就不同，祖父母都老了，平日只有菲庸照顧囝囝，所以他的第一語言是英語。當我們考慮選擇英粵班和英普班時，有想過英粵班對他的語言發展好一點，但缺點是廣東話會很快取代英語成他的第一語言。看過不少的資料，最後決定讀英普班。他下年都會在樂基讀，我沒有幫他報其它學校。

hi,

Sorry that I forgot if your son in P1 or Nursery class. Don't worry too much. I guess it takes a while for the young one to make improvement at this early stage. Of course it is important to strengthen his language ability. You mentioned before that you are the one speak Chinese with him. So you should really think about some ways to associate with him and build up his language. For Putonghua, he may gain from daily usage and teaching from school but the speed may not be quick. It takes another school term to see his progress. Think about if he should stay with international/ Cantonese section.
