oh well, I have some other views:

1. No matter is Kumon/ Selin Maths - it depends on the tutor as well.  The tutor plays an important role to guide the students.
2.  Kumon is rather mechanical..while Selin will involve more thinking.
3.  My little one used to take Kumon when she was at kinder...and when she went to primary school, we switched to Selin. Selin she did now is ahead of what she was taught at school.  According to the teacher, what she is currently doing is at least 1-2 terms ahead of what she is doing now.

Personally, I prefer Selin to Kumon...which needs to interpret the question and draw up the formula herself.

Now she has been doing the Selin maths for 2 years (almost) and she is fine with her maths at school.

多謝你的意見 , 咁請問你在邊間學林到學? 北角或筲箕灣有無邊間好呀. 我呀仔小一, 是否轉學林比較適合?

My little girl's Selin tutor is operating at her own home. And she lived just nearby (just 5 mins walk from our place). We lived in the Kowloon Tong district, I am sorry I don't know any Selin method tutor in the area you specified.

To me, Selin method helps to strengthen the Maths concept intrepretation and usage while Kumon is mechanical to train the kid faster calculation from the point they lay eyes on the formula provided.

So it depends on what your kid needs or which direction you want him to improve or strengthen.

咁奇怪! 學林可以私人教咩? 唔係好似kumon 咁有centre, 有公司back　ｕｐ？？　　咁你個導師邊到有教材？　有無人監管？　一對幾個小朋友？
咁你個導師會唔會知道其他區有無好介紹？

Just she did it at her own home.  She used to be a Kumon tutor.  But I when Kumon shifted all the teacher to "centres" , she switched to Selin at the same time.  All the materials are from Selin.

This tutor only operates on Monday & Friday (she has her own family to take care of ), it depends on the time, sometime, is 1:1 (like in the morning) sometimes, there will be more (especially after school around 4pm ).

She is patient and understand what kids need and what parents want (her daughter is in the high school of my little one's primary school)she will teach my little one extra stuff.  Little presents always keep a smiling face on the student.
