In my personal opinion, Cambridge is more common among HK kids as more centres are preparing kids for that. Also you may buy material from British Council to get your kids prepared for the exam.

My girl's school was very proactive to arrange both Cambridge (starter) and ESOL (Jet One) for their students and we have found the ESOL much harder. She needs to write a lot for ESOL and as a K2 student at that time, she can only spell limited words and that's tough. Therefore she only got 70% in the writing test while the rest is 95-100%.

Most kids in her school can achieve 13-15 shields in the starter exam at the age of 5-6.

ESOL will be more ideal for Primary 2-3 students.

If friends were flowers, I will pick a bunch of you!

Hi, I think Trinity is more focus on conversation, but not writting. So far my girl took Trinity class since May, and she will have her first time exam with group on 17th, Dec. And another exam alone in 2007 May.
I don't think is helpful for her at all. She can't even tell me what she learn during classes. When the time she prononce the words, I don't think is correct. (May be it was the problem for my girl only)

我囝囝都有在wise上過堂
當時要上成20堂
每堂比幾首poem佢地讀
如是者上左一半
就開始比考試d poem佢地讀
最後選定一首,就不停practice
個人認為用咁多時間同金錢
去練一首poem,
倒不如參加校際朗誦
小朋友都有機會面對群眾
況且考左guilhall又唔係
有乜大幫助去考私小
當然佢地緊係叫你上堂
呢d錢最易賺

How is the teacher in Wise? You are in Prince Edward Rd branch? I plan to help my son enrol the trinity ESOL conversation course in Nice and Wise Prince Edward Road, not the Speech and Drama triinity which has to present poem. They said in the course they would do some writing also, because in higher level students have to write for the exam.

By the way, I've let my son join the speech festival, which is brilliant experience for him.

And any mum know which organisation is the one who introduce the Trinity exam to HK. I want to buy the book ' Talking Trinity' there?

My son attended the course in Wise at Prince Edward West centre. They said the teacher is well experienced but my comments was so-so.

I would recommend "Cambridge" instead of Trinity.
