Hi The Pooh,

My girl will also attend the am class this Sept, in Norfolk Rd campus.  She is studying in Nursury class now.  She loves going to school and makes quite a number of friends.  I am afraid that she may have to take some time to adapt to new environment.

Will your girl take the school bus?

Same as your kids, my daughter will also attend the am class in Norfolk Rd campus this Sept.  Any idea of how they class the kids ?  By age, by living area or just by random ?

Za, my daughter will also take the school bus but actually, I'm quite worry about it.  She has never sat by herself in any traffic except MTR.

My girl is studying in N1 (Tsing Yi Tivoli) right now. She will go to St.Catherine at Norfolk Road too.
She will take the school bus. I am worry about that if she can take the bus by herself. But I belive that 船到橋頭自然直。

霖霖18 & ThePooh,

My girl is studying in Creative N1 in Lam Tin.  Initially, I will let her travel by school bus and see whether it's ok.  One afternoon I passed by the school when the children were being escorted from school to get on the school bus.  I noted that the bus was parked right at the entrance of the school and the children were led by the teacher to get on the bus.  I think taking the school bus administered by the school (or the school recommends) is better since the school should guarantee its service.  Moreover, I am not confident to let my maid to bring her to and back from school by MTR, especially on rainy days and stormy days (afterall, it's a walking distance of about 10-15 minutes from MTR station to school for a 3 yrs old kid and there's no cover all along the path).  I do worry too.

I do not know how the children are to be allocated?  Maybe by age is also a good way since there is considerable difference in performance for children born in Jan 2001 from those born in Dec 2001.  My girl will be 3 this Sept.

ThePooh, when will your child get on the bus for school every morning?  Mine has to get on the bus on 7:55am (the second station of the route).

Hi everyone,

I am not a St. Catherine's mom but would definitely like to be one next year.  I was told that there are some standard questions for parents at the interviews and would like to know what your answers were to those questions:-

1.  What are your expectations of your child?
2.  What expectations do you have on our kinder?

Would all successful mom be kind enough to help?  Thanks.

Hi danielboy,

Be frank, I forget already the answers I gave to the above two questions during the interview.  I think these two questions are not cruical.  For me, I want my child to be self confident, caring, with love, joyful and with better language skills (in both written and spoken) etc.  I expect my child likes to go to the kinder which is also one which cares for the development of children and can teach the children with a better mastery of languages.

My child is not yet 2 when interviewed and she even didn't know much to speak.  Yet, she responded well to the teacher's questions and "answered" them all by pointing to pictures, picking up the things etc.  Anyway, based on some comments and feedbacks from a number of Moms in BK, it is hard to tell the standard qualities that St Cat requires.

what is your bus route no.? is the same one with tsing yi?
perhaps, my girl will take the same bus with your girl. see if we can meet before school day.

In fact, my son just few months old.  But my hubby very excited on applying kinder, becoz we may consider to move.  St. Catherine is one of my target kinder, would you please kindly tell how old we could apply for and when application form will be distributed?  Shall we arrange him to attend nursery before applying for kinder? Any good suggested nursery?  So many questions, million .... thanks in advance.

Hi mums living in Tsing Yi,

The school bus for Tsing Yi route is No.18.  It will take about 40 mins to school.  If you notice the message here, some mums said the company in TST is the one to sell good quality of uniform.

She will take the Route No. 10 bus to St. Catherine.   Which no. of bus will your girl take ?

如冇記錯，大約九月份打電話去問。學校會叫你寄回郵信封去索取申請表格，填好寄返去。跟住十一月頭就interview.
我個女十月頭返nursery, 即是返左一個月學就去interview。佢冇喊，仲有問有答添。有些媽咪話St.Cat 個interview 安排得唔好，但我覺得都ok 啦。
你個仔幾月出世呀？開學時夠兩歲零八個月就可申請啦。

Thanks so much for your reply.  My son was born in December, so I am worry he is too little to apply.  By the time he is interviewed would be less than two years old, but he would be 2yrs. 8mths when he starts K1.  I am considering to let him starts nursery at 耀中雙語班, where your daughter studied her nursery?  Any comments?
