St Francis Canossian vs St Paul Catholic

I intend to choose Marymount in the Central Allotment in Jan 07 but it seems that the chance is relatively low due to high competition. How about the captioned schools, which ranked no. 2/3 in Wanchai District? Anyone can share with me more about the schools? Thanks a lot!!

Simply speaking, they are both good schools and are linked to a good secondary school.

As a SFCS past student, I do recommend SFCS since the school is improving in various areas, like extra curricular activities and school facilities. There will be a new building established in near future as I heard.The school emphasizes on both academy and moral education.Back to my years, we had a civil education lesson every week and a before-class assembly everyday. For academy,I don't know how the english classes run now but we had 3 textbooks for english before. One of the series(called PTU) go deeply into grammar and I really regret that I threw them away....We also learned english math for Form 1in p6 as a preparation for promoting to SFCC.

曾經聽過一個老人家教如果去選終生伴侶, 佢地話好似買鞋, 要睇中個款後, 然後親自去試清楚, 舒服才買, 不要信別人的意見, 因為真正的用家係你. 同意嗎?

Thanks for your comments. It's really useful.

Comparing to St Paul Catholic, SFC only have 2 tests and 2 exams for each academic year. Do you know if the students are having less pressure for studying in SFC?

Dear Malisa,

阿女派到出年St Paul's Catholic小一, 她現在讀寶血幼稚園, 返學是極度愉快學習; 我很喜歡這間小學, 但有點擔心阿女又不是特別勤力成熟那種, 請問妳女女讀得開心之餘, 功課測考是否很辛苦?

其實我是相信要給小朋友適量推動力的家長(但可惜好多人郁下就說是壓力), 小學打好基礎, 溫習練習及背誦, 腦內有大量硬件資料(中, 英, 數), 才有材料在中學發展思考力.

可否分享一下? 謝謝!

其實你係12區, 大抽獎機會均等, 不防第1志願為MARYMOUNT,個個都係咁搏,第2或3先選ST PAUL OR ST FRANCIS.
以舊年黎講,ST PAUL 同 ST FRANCIS 仲可以扣門有得IN,
MARYMOUNT就無得IN.

其實揀學校主要不是睇間學校有幾多人掙, 雖然呢個會係現實的考慮. 揀學校主要是應該認真研究學校資料, 睇下自己子女適合邊一間多D.

Marymount名氣很大, 但家長有無清楚明白間學校, 例如辦學團體已經由80年前的Maryknoll Sisters, 於30年前轉到Columban Sisters, 再到10年前轉到不是女修會的Christian Life Community, 女修會辦學傳統和宗旨會保持嗎? 家長喜歡重英輕中的環境嗎? 初小功課考試少真的適合自己小朋友嗎?

我住在12網跑馬地區三十多年, 我自己是St Paul's系畢業生, 我妹妹是Marymount畢業生.

到現在我為阿女揀小一, 從頭到尾都揀St Paul's, 不作他選, 也幸運地於首階段成功了.

我都諗緊St. Francis or St. Paul put in 2nd.
I like St. Paul's better, but I think it would be safer to put St. Francis in 2nd place. Really hard to decide.
