Yes, agree 100%!  EMB of course knows it, but they still insist not to announce 1st round results before lucky draw!!

To be fair, the principals of the primary schools also do not want to announce the result before July.  The reason is that the principals are worrying the students who know their admisssion results will not pay efforts in their final examination, subsequently affecting their school banding results.  

EMB and the primary school principals are both responsible for the pressure of the parents.

I am not sure about your comment.  If the students got the seats in DSS and DP, they are no need to rank again, in other word, not affect the banding.

The problem is on the pre-S1 test governing the banding of the primary schools. If the students do not make efforts in the 2nd term, their standard would slip and the banding of the school would fall. This is a matter of life and death at the present moment.

What I feel unfair to the parents is actually the difference in the timing of the announcement between DSS and other schools. A better system I would prefer is that parents have two choices without priorities being set. They choose the schools they want for discretionary places as well as DSS ones. There is a fixed date for announcing the results in mid-April for all kinds of schools. The parents decide to accept one of the offers from their applied schools, if any, and register within a three-day period. Otherwise they will give up the offer. After that the EMB gathers all the remaining seats in all schools for central allocation. This would be fair to all parents and students.

Agreed, 就係因為咁, 我先幫亞女報左直資, 重要間直資收左, 唔想再煩又要填呢樣, 又要填果樣, 又唔想亞女壓力太大, 結果決家入直資 :-|  :-|  :-|

點解佢地唔可以好似升小一甘知道有學校收就唔駛d家長擔心到7月, 佢地個"直"口係唔想小朋友知道有學校收就無心機考試, 但係我覺得小朋友考完最後呈分都係無心機再考最後一次學期試, 甘何必要折磨我地 。

Yes, and as ccspy said, DSS can announce the results now, so this putting parents more in a dilemma!  EMB is really so disgusting!

好提議!　都唔明點解一定要到七月先可公報結果,　累到家長及小朋友要應付面試後,　還要再頭痛地選擇三十間學校,　然後係公報日,　又要準備定去叩門的文件,證書等等,　可能係白費功夫的,　前一晚我唸大把家長們都會訓得唔好.　如果早D知道自行收生的結果,　大家(家長們及教統局的員工)都唔駛做咁多野,　咁咪好LOR!

百分百認同+舉手舉腳讚成又如何？咁多年來都是這樣，班官話係要玩到你哋D家長七月呀，吹咩
但如果班官自己有小朋友考嘅，佢哋自然有路預先查到自己D小朋友掂唔掂 ，不過都唔駛預先查嘅，聽講好多學校都好wellcome D 公務員子女，因為係人都知D公務員好得閒，好多時間管D子女，考試期間又可以請十日八日假倍子女温習，唔駛學校担心。不過本人在此勸預D學校，雖則公務員真係好閒，但亦都好Q煩，到時學校做唔到佢哋嘅要求，或者唔順學校時，佢亦都大把時間同你哋嘈，玩到你班老師謝哂都得，而且佢哋好識同你玩野，何解？因為佢係官，所以識走法律gap。

There are two exam. for reference (呈分) already, No need to have the third exam. that put the children and parents into such circumstances.

For the sake of God, pls don't foolish us around.
Just let us know the result after first round, that partial of parents can relief their painful, not just the parents can afford to pay the DSS.

我係96 媽咪, 現家都要搵資料,知道呢個程序,真係人都癲!!!
我係電台聽個官解釋係時間緊迫,所以要咁,我都唔明,
第一輪係學校和家長的協定,咁點解小學又可以喇!
咁點解DSS又可以喇!
真係唔明, 究竟係邊個理由要我地咁?  好嬲!!!!!!

贊成!!!
其實d官既理由都好薄弱，驚d細路無心機考最後一次試未唔好計果次分囉，或者唔考囉，中五同中七生都係考完公開試就唔駛再考多次試啦，考左咁多年都夠啦，況且六年級都要考2次呈分試，跟住仲有個TSA同埋PS1潻，考少一次真係影响咁大？ 考完3月個呈分試，咁未係4月同直資一齊公佈囉。
至於佢地話會分化d學生，咁點解而家d大學又可以收中六拔尖生呀? 咁樣就唔會分化學生咩? 真係講一套做一套。
