I let my daughter taking parts in starters class ( 3 lessons a week) and summer class ( english conversation, chinese/english composition for primary 1,2 days a week, 3 hours per day) in mid of July at John education centre at Fo Tan... just about 1 month of time to now... though, I am quite satisfied with the course in terms of material and teachers. Teacher is a native english speaker, she is nice and has given me positive impression, by way of speaking to her personally and my observation of lesson ( as the classroom is semi-opened with glass window) There are a lot of worksheets/homeworks and materials distributed during each lesson. We, as parents are busy as well as I have to review the homeworks after work as my daughter needs to return them in next lessons for marking and need to help spelling vocabulary. My daughter enjoys the classes very much as the class is interactive, kids can act as teacher to raise questions and lead the discussion). I also feel she is really learnt something (perhaps due to a lot of materials which I need to review  .
Overall, things are out of my expectation. Originally I chose John's education centre in Fo Tan purely out of location convenience (before my daughter attending classes in Kowloon Tong once a week only) and for getting something for my daughter to do in summer. Its location and classroom may not be attractive but people at that centre are all nice (including the lady sitting at the reception) and course content are satisfactory. My daughter really learnt something new during the summer at John. And I will consider to continue certain course there even after summer.
However, having seeing one of the BK parents comment in below, I am wondering if my daughter can take part in the starter exam this Sept as she is not reaching 6 years old until this Nov!. I have just sumbitted the application form and paid fee via John. And they haven't said whether my daughter will be eligible or not.... need to check out with John....
