Dear all,

Please share your valuable experience with me if a child's reading interest will decrease as he/she grows up? My son is 7.5 years old. When he was young, he loved reading a lot. Last year, he told me that he has lost his interest in reading. Up to now, the situation remains the same. I really need your advice of how to regain his interest in reading. He will be in P3 in the coming September.

Please advise.

I assume your son is now studying in int'l school. If so, it's quite weird as the school environment should encourage his reading interest. anyway, how about giving him some books of his favourite characters, e.g. pokemon, curious george. or some activites book, e.g. how to make a paper aeroplane, magic, or jokes. if he likes them, i hope he can develop the interest later.

Hi

If i were you, i will try to buy some books which are a lot of series such as Magic Tree House, Adventure stories. Because he will want to know the story more and will chase the content to go.

If parents can read with your own children that will make a big difference. Don't just give them books. Read with your children and share what you read and what you think with them.
