考咩樂器? 我前年有學生以單簧管考入。難唔難都睇你年紀同考 pre-junior 定 junior, 也看你甚麼樂器。我識人10歲用8級琴都考不入, 但未知他面試是否很差。

我想幫仔仔報初級小提琴，不過好似好難考。唔知要做D咩準備？仔仔未學過小提琴。

how about their beginers' couses for volin/volia? are they also very difficult to get in? what are to be done during interview?

我曾見過, 滿10歲, 只有4級cert, 都考得入

Hi,

I know successful 5-year old kids playing grade 2-3 songs at the audition. There are also kids at the same age auditing with Grade 5 songs and rejected. Talent is not judged by the level of music you play but how artiistically you play it (e.g. sense of rhythm, artistic expression, dynamic and style), confident performer has an advantage.

The child is also tested on sight reading and aural (depending on your age and the level of your song, e.g. 5 year old playing a Grade 2 song may be tested on Grade 1 sight-reading and aural).

It also depends on the competence of other applicants（e.g. a 5 year old playing Grade 3 songs as well as the one playing Grade 2 songs will have an advantage over the latter).

Hi kawaihappy,

The auditions were held in a number of days last year(about 5-10 minutes each), and about 10 were admitted to the pre-junior choir. My daughter provided piano accompaniment for three friends in their auditions and only one of them with a beautiful voice was put on the waiting list (unsuccessful).

By the way, piano accompaniment in the singing audition is permitted. The child can sing better when accompanied by a friend/relative.

我個仔鋼琴剩係識彈幾首好簡單既歌, 例如：Ten little Indians.因為佢只係學佐幾個月, 咁係咪冇機會？

另外，如果考唱歌, 會要求唱D咩歌?係咪一定要唱兒歌？

機會是相對的,看其它考生而定. 如果你兒子有上Tom Lee 的JMC或其它合唱團,那些歌也可以用來考試．亦可以用學校的兒歌．最重要是你兒子喜歡的歌．
