I am looking for swimming course for my 5 months old baby, preferably in HK side. Does anyone has any information?

Dear SkyPenguin,
Why are you rushing to have your 5 mos. old baby learn swimming? Babies of such a young age are too fragile to be exposed regularly to the public. There are germs and bacteria everywhere. Besides, swimming pool water is not good for young babies.
I would advise you to consider for the sake of your baby's health & safety.

講真，咁細個bb，都係父母帶佢去玩下咪算囉。我知外國有bb 幾個月就落水，有d一歲多少少就可以游到水(真係游個隻)，但我諗多數係父母用左唔少心機去教同陪佢玩，我相信唔係話上一兩個游泳班就可以令到一個幾個月既bb 識游水囉。

不過，我親眼見到一個大約一歲既bb女同佢媽咪同大哥係泳池玩水，係騎住水泡定浮床之類，載浮載沉，即係個頭完全落晒水個隻，個bb女真係識自己閉氣嫁。

i just want my baby to do some swimming exercise, i am not going to force him to be a professional swimmer or anything like that, just want to have some fun with him.
Also, swimming is very good for babies' brain and physical development.

dear skypenguin,
i know you're a smart mom. i believe there should be some lessons for young kids at the south island school. the pool is good and clean. i used to take mine there to learn when she was about 20 mos. old. but that was many years ago and i lost the info. maybe you can call and find out.

Thanks deniset, I will check.

But my husband is against my idea of bringing our baby to swim now! He said its dangerous! So we may need to start from our bath tub, then swimming pool in our building, then .... swimming course, etc. I'll see lah. :)

see 灣仔循道衛理 summer course which allow 5-months baby & in Victoria Park on Sunday's afternoon. My daughter who is 3 yrs old & I join the course last year. Babies already fall in sleep in water. Very funny.
