聖保羅男女兩小學9月合併 遷黃竹坑新校舍



李端儀任聖保羅小學新校長

  【明報專訊】每年學費達4.8萬元的「名牌直資」聖保羅男女小學，決定委任現時聖保羅男女（堅尼地道）小學校長李端儀，擔任擴建後的「聖保羅男女中學附屬小學」校長。她將於今年9月履新，統籌2008年小學新校舍落成工作，屆時小學學額將由現時720個增至900個。

兩小學9月合併

經過半年全球招聘工作，聖保羅男女中學校董會昨日宣布，委任聖保羅男女（堅尼地道）小學校長李端儀為「聖保羅男女中學」附屬小學校長。她本身是聖保羅男女中學的校友，在澳洲有多年教育經驗，1999年起出任聖保羅男女（堅尼地道）小學校長。

聖保羅男女中學目前兩所小學，分別位於堅尼地道及麥當勞道，亦將於今年9月1日合併為「聖保羅男女中學附屬小學」。附屬小學預計於2008年9月遷往位於港島南區黃竹坑新校舍，新校班數將由現時24班增至30班，容納900名學生。

李端儀表示，上任後將集中處理兩所小學合併工作，整合兩校教職員融入一校的團隊精神。聖保羅男女中學校長兼小學校監陳黃麗娟形容，李端儀對教育工作充滿熱誠、幹勁十足、具領導才能和宏觀國際視野，相信可帶領小學與中學一條龍順利銜接，令附屬小學朝國際級優秀學府的目標邁進。

今早睇報紙，
麥當勞道校舍將作為中學部擴展之用，
而堅尼地道校舍將交還政府。
有報導說可供半日制小學以便轉為全日制，
但堅小好細只得12個班房，即一級兩班，
報紙已訪問左華仁小學校長，
因為華仁小學正是半日制，
同埋司徒拔道校舍亦是只得12個班房。
看似合適，不過運作上都有問題喇，
而家上下晝共用好多資源，
校網一個11、另一個12，未必成事喇。
加上那地皮好值錢喎，
好似話8億… 政府賣地好過喇。

Parents and students of SPCC MacDonnel Road will find the result disappointed as their headmistress WU was defeated by Kennedy Road headmistress LEE in this selection exercise.

I met the Principal Wu once last year during the second interview for 2006 primary one application.  She is very gentle, nice and pleasant.

I don't know the 2 principals and only met them in the parents seminar.  Wu was definitely superior than Lee in terms of presentation.  The latter's presentation skill was so poor that my husband and I had serious doubt on her ability......And she's so blunt to say that the school won't accept "small kid" because they don't have time to allow the kid to catch up with the others.  You may say that she does not want to give false hope to the parents but I don't think that it is politically correct to say so in a public occasion.  

I must declare here that the school did not offer to my kid, but I was really surprised when I knew that Lee would become the principal of the new school.

I'm not a SPCC parent, but I somehow feel surprised to hear that there are so many unfavourable news about Ms Lee.  

I heard that Ms Lee is an open-minded lady. She does not stress on family background and tends to look at candidate's interview performance in selecting P.1 students.  On the contrary, Ms Wu tends to consider more on family background.  Moreover, the load of tests and exams is lesser compared with the other campus.  

Please clarify if I am wrong.
