My son was born in Oct 05 and I also face the same problem. I called up a nursey school and asked about his situation. They told me that they would only accept babies into nursery when they are 2+ years old. They told me that my bb can start nursey school in Jan 08 (instead of Aug 07) when he becomes 2 yrs and 3 months old! Then they said my bb will attend nursey school for 1/2 a year (from Jan to July 08) then K1 in Aug 08.

Meanwhile I will just bring him to playgroups until he goes to nursery school!

my bb borned in 11/04 & i want to send her to nursery in 1/07, i.e. after her 2-year old birthday.

我暫時apply左一間, 因為家姐細妹d bb一齊,
我個b 都係11月,
咁間nursery 收左佢, 一足歲就可以去讀,
不過家姐話應該可以遲多2/3個月讀都得,
if 我真係打算比佢讀呢間nursery就會係07年既1月or 2月先讀.

my baby was born at the end of Oct. so also small children...but I have already bring him for interview and reserve seats.....actually before I also don't want to send him to school so early but it seems will be good for him to start schooling ealry in HK...I am not sure...

cutiemo and all,

my son was born in 10/2003, he studies in pre-nursey for a semester already, overall we discover he really learns a lot from the KG, being more independent and mature, and he has quite good inter-personal skill.

i believe that it is good for the child to have eariler education as well as stimulation which we cannot give him in house so all rounded.

HoCleo,

if u suppose to let your child to study pre-nursery at the age of 2, i think u can check with the KG now, some of them can let u join in the class in the 2nd semester (of 06/07), perhaps they will reserve a seat or put your child on the waiting list.

我準備俾BB 11月插班讀N1, 收左啦.
而家就搵緊Playgroup俾佢去玩下.

唔係間間幼稚園有N1 (2歲班)架, 幼兒園就當然有啦, 妳可以打電話問下.

My baby was born in Oct. My living area here provide a lot of n1 spaces. so not hurry to enroll at this moment.

for the coming 2006 to 2007 N1, a lot of Nursery has started the application from last year Sept 2005.
so better check the condition first

some commercial nursery always ask you to enroll immediately and said that "there are not much spaces. If your baby is under 2 years old, why not you bring her to join our playgroup?" They just want you to pay$$. I don't think they are telling the truth. :evil:

I think I will let my daughter study N1 also in 2006-2007. She was born 11/04. Most of the school have already started interviewing. Some of them are even full... :cry:

actually, that is pre-nursery class not a playgroup, my son has to wear uniform as the same of the KG students, he knows the rules, schedules and discipline in school. He enjoys his school life very much, concentrates in class and he is willing to learn.

Other than going to school, if u want to train your son to be more independent, u can try to let him to do some simple thing, just like draw sth into rubbish bin, get u the cup or tidy up the toys.
