Seminar on how to prepare P.1 Application

Last year, we had a big discussion on this forum on how to get into DBSPD.  I have mentioned that I could arrange for a session to share my experience on the subject of ".1 Application" with interested parents.  I have now found some time and a place for the meeting and it will be held on 18th February 2006, Saturday between 1500-1700 around HKU area.

The place can only accomodate 30 parents or so and please send me PM if you are interested to attend.  There will be no charge for this function.  I will invite experience KG operators and teachers from leading primary schools to attend to ensure that those coming will benefit from this event.  I will also explain my perspective as an old boy and as a parent of two sons who are attending this school.

Priority will be given to those parents whose children are now in PN or K.1 since they would have the best opportunity to act on the advice prepared.  

I will be using DBSPD as a case study and those parents who have girls would also be welcomed.  I trust that the contents that I have prepared would be of universal application.

Your PM to me should include your name, email address and the age and grade of your child.

This is my Lai See to all of your lovely children.  See you at the event.

Dear Fellow Parents

On the day, I will be speaking at the event together with a very experienced educator and Head of English Panel of a leading primary school in Hong Kong and a senior member of a kindergarten who would be able to answer queries on private/government allocation system.  

Please mark your diary as I will be extremely disappointed with those who "no-show".  

Since there is no charge for this event, your respect for the speakers to arrive on-time is only a matter of simple courtesy.     

Otherwise, there will be no second time

BTW, I have disclosed the name and identity of the lady who will be speaking alongside myself on the day.  Would those informed refrain from disclosing her identity on BK to avoid inconvenience that may be caused to her.

Please remember that your PM to me should include your name, email address and the age and grade of your child.  You can be assured that you will not get unsolicited promotion from me, I just need these information to assess priority of allocation of space and so that I can contact you for last minute changes.

I would like to remind parents to leave their children at home if possible to enable us to concentrate on the discussions.  I like children very much but I think the function is a gathering amongst parents for their benefit and we could be forgiven for leaving them under the care of someone at home.  Just once
