My colleague' son was allocated to a very traditional primary school in HK side, and her son was very unhappy for the 3/4 year of p1, and teacher always complained him and he also was punished by the teachers. My colleague finally transferred him to Victoria primary school & now he is p4, he enjoys the school very much.
But the acamedic level is lower than local primary school as school encourages students to have more reading, less homeworks. But his son was poor in writing, assessment,... but the schoolife made him so happy.
this school is using encouragement appproach/ active approach, so you can consider it.
